Extract the files and manually update. Will work.
Remove all external device, Plug in Battery & AC Adapter. Close all software.

Run the update \, leave the machine. Once successful it will auto restart.

sorry, did you have completed downloaded it?
try to re-download it...

This happen to Y460 user which run Win7 64 bit before.
You could try to download 5 times, event is completed and still receiving the same message.
Do the steps I mentioned above.

and run the extracted file right?  smile.gif

@pws, try to do based on unknownhammie suggest to you,
hope it work..

Yes, run the extracted file. Not sure whats the name, something with bios. Then it will kinda hang coz flashing bios.

Once double click to run the flash bios, dont do anything till it restart.
Then holla, it is flashed.

has anyone tried to play games on y460 with cooling pad??what is its max temp under load??
HOW DO WE DO A CLEAN REINSTALL OF WINDOW7 ON Y460?sorry for this noob question but i really need to know how..it require a windows disc or what?i have no idea...thank you very much for any pro that are willing to enlighten me..^^

Added on June 17, 2010, 8:18 pm
so what does it really mean with '' available on selected models''?
*
Ain't you're machine has Preloaded Win7? OKR and it will go back to factory settings.
If you formatted yourself and the OKR function might not be working anymore

Selected model which is like SG models, all I7 Y460 comes with SSD and price would like likely around SGD2499.
For I5 Processor in SG/MY none of them comes with SSD. doh.gif

Looking forward for them to release in Malaysia, I bet would be I7 as well? hmm.gif

how come u can get such a nice temperature?can give me some tips and guides?

Added on June 18, 2010, 10:26 pm

read at china article..it reduces idle state temperature but the gaming part..still maintain at high temp..

Added on June 19, 2010, 10:13 amregarding the reinstalling of win7..i am still confused about it..hopefully somebody can englighten me..
1)what is the purpose of making recovery disc?what kind of things do we store inside it?
2)since we dont have win7 disc installer,we need to download it(win7 home premium 64-bit) from microsoft?
3)after successful clean install of win7,we install driver from D: back to C : right?
4)after i am satisfied with my new OS,can i set OKR to format back to this OS(new) in future(virus or etc)..?
hope someone can solve my confusion..xD
*
1) Create backup, if your windows corrupted, you are able to recover the data's for that particular back up time. (correct me if i'm wrong)
2) Machines are manufactured with Pre-Loaded Windows and OKR are available which is why there will be no Win7 Disc.
3) Depending on driver compatibility, it depends on the Windows/ 32bit or 64 bit
4) No you can't, only Lenovo Service Center are able to set the OKR for you or else you could create backup/recover disc for you new installed windows

>>2)but the OKR will restore all the bloatware, that is the sad part
>>4)then OKR is useless for me already, since win7disc is better solution(no bloatwares)
*
Well, it is built that way. Bloatwares in term of? What I know is, it is a clean Win7 with preloaded softwares.

If you install clean Win7 yourself, your OKR might not be working and there will be charges by Service Center to remake it (correct me if i'm wrong)

just wanted to turn it off..like when ur not using ur bluetooth on ur hp..sure u will turn it off right?..

dont have any other way to turn the bluetooth completely off other than just selecting the 'turn adapter off'??
*
ain't sure mate. The option to off would be, right click on Bluetooth icon and turn off.
Or device manager at bluetooth, click disable.

Not sure if there is other way to completely off it.
