hmm... after reading 16 pages about reformatting with bloat-ware free installation method. I still don't know how to do it. Forgive me for i have only started getting interested in computers both software and hardware not too long ago. I am really interested in y460. I'm not bothered by the heat as much as the effects of high temperature to the laptop (eg. shorter shelflife). Where can i get someone to do a good & clean installation that kills off the bloat-wares w/o disabling all the touch features and OKR?

Added on May 4, 2010, 1:51 amAlso, is it possible to manually uninstall ALL bloat-ware w/o reformatting or clean installation?
*
well i had disabled and uninstalled most of the crap and so far so good...
but a clean reinstallation would be better...

@wztech

You're using the HD 5730 clock or others? Maybe let us know which game you're playing and did you use gstoh's method to lower CPU clock?

MW2 is not a graphic intensive game. Mind letting us know your idle/load temp for both GPU?

Thanks unknownhammie for informing us about the new BIOS ver smile.gif. Did flash mine last night too and I'm surprised to find that the ATI GC kept maintaining @ 300/300(rather than 450/800) even my powerplay setting was the usual maximum performance. Idle temp on ATI GC is 52-53C while CPU is 49-50C, no changes when using Intel GMA. I'm not sure the old BIOS have this but there's an option there for you to choose between switchable graphics or discrete graphics at all time.

Aside from that, I'm keen to see Lenovo update the ATI GC's software, if possible, please include overdrive!!  drool.gif

lower clock rate? will affect the performance?
