My grandmother have cataracts on both of her eyes. We already took her to the hospital, but the process is too long. (probably because it's a government hospital..) Do you know any good eye specialist in Selangor or Kuala Lumpur? (Probably in Subang jaya or Petaling? coz i live here). and give me the price range.

Try ISEC in midvalley. The cost depends on the type of lens u choose. Non-multifocal lens will set u back about rm3500 per eye including operation. Multifocal lens up to rm6000 per eye.

Of course some surgeons in PJ offers 2000 per eye but maybe u have to ask wat lens they are using.

I always believe in "cheap thing no good, good thing no cheap".. haha

Anything recommended in Midvalley is ridiculously overpriced imo. There are so many ophthalmologists around PJ and KL area. Ask around.

University Hospital is cheap, and fast (if you pay). Price is rising but last I check (which was a few years ago), still very far from full price private hospitals. I think they call it PPUM. They used to operate entirely within UH, after normal hours, but now have their own buildings nearby.

The private wing for PPUM is called University Malaya Specialist Center. It's near the PJ gate entrance of University Malaya. Not the PPUM (pusat perubatan uni malaya) building.
