yep initially i was screaming PENALTY!! as well, but after watching the replay u can see there's minimal contact and the player who causes kalou to completely lose his balance is...(drum roll please) KALOU himself.  yep. tripped over his own feet...sigh. funny when its done and dusted with 3 points in the bag, but we'll be collectively cursing if liverpool got back into the game!
obviously carlo and some of the players were complaining as they thought it was a nailed on pen.

i think you're a bit harsh on nico though. like i said before it was not one of his best games, but i'm sure u didn't forget his pinpoint low-cross for lampard to finish? the world class players can somehow contribute to a winning performance even on their worst days.   
if you're talking about his chance in the first half, lampard's lay-off was slightly underhit, thus giving time for kyrgiakos to make a crucial interception.

its interesting u brought up the formation. well actually if u analyse our games, we don't stick religiously to a rigid 4-3-3 or 4-3-2-1 or 4-1-4-1. we pack the middle when we lose possession, push it out wide when opponents crowd the penalty area, and we also try to thread a defence-splitting pass down the middle when opponents are busy guarding the flanks. we might seem to prefer attacking from out wide at the moment, but narrowing down our style to only one type of formation would be a huge injustice to the players and carlo's tactics. its all about varying your attacks and not being ONE DIMENSIONAL.
