I just got myself Fenix tk15, was suppose to get Surefire e2d ultra but the shop was out of stock. The shop recommended this instead, they said i cant go wrong is tk15 as the value of money is there. Not to say anything is wrong with e2d but for value wise i think tk15 was good. Still looking forward to get surefire in the future but i notice surefire last time was selling at premium in KL, i have no idea how the situation now.

That forum is for malaysian enthusiast for just another international forum?

How much does Fenix TK15 and Surefire E2D ultra cost in Mysia?

On my understanding, "thebrightsideforum" is created by member from Bright Side lowyat.
On the first post, first page. "We have created our very own forum, also called The Bright Side, hosted at Lumensreview."

To me its like International forum but Malaysian based. smile.gif  smile.gif

Hey i got my stuff from an aussie tactical shop. I got tk15 for 100 Aud and surefire box of 12 battery for 30 buck. I not sure how much does it sells in malaysia tho as i have no idea where to look for specialized flashlight shop ( can you suggest some of it). I only knew of an small shop in Ampang point that used to sell surefire at a very premium price many years ago.

E2d ultra from tat same dealer sells for 350 AUD but it was out of stock when i was at their retail store so i cant really compare side to side with tk15. SO far i very happy with tk15 as it power and size are just right for me, i just carry around whenever i went out.

*feel like getting fenix ld22 as gift to my bro and supplement my collection.

So many drops-in module for P60, from affordable to "can buy another Surefire" pricing, can scare newbies from venturing into this category unless they know what they are looking for or have a fixed budget.

As for Mag, the 3D or 4D are best kept in the car.
At least if got stopped in some roadblock, easier to answer to the police, compared to a baseball bat or a Rambo knife.

Wont the the battery in the mag would damage and spoil if you keep inside the car (especially under hot sun)

Those were the days.
Nowadays, doubt people still keep Mag inside their car, or even own a Mag  tongue.gif
Alkaline will leak, so D or C cell Mag are not a good choice anymore.

I've been keeping CR123-based lights inside my glove box, from Pelican M6 LED back in 2004 to Fenix P3D nowadays.
At one time, I even had a Surefire E2e as my glovebox light, until I found out that people are still asking good money for it as it has been discontinued.

well i still using Mag LED in my home, the prospect of using as a baton for self defense is very tempting when place in my car. So am i considered a dinosaur as i still using the Mag LED? doh.gif

I think I'll stick with the Zebralight SC52 as I can't find anything better for RM220. Talking about the size, intensity and also being able to use a single AA battery smile.gif

https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...5&hl=zebralight

Even the Amazon page is more expensive, not to mention the price of the newer SC52W.

Btw, not too sure whether to take the W version or not hmm.gif

Does zebra light made something like elzetta with High/Strobe function?

Lol!
Most of mainstream flashlight manufacturers are China companies.
In addition to @power911 list, include Olight, Jetbeam, Sunwayman, Acebeam, etc.

Zebralight is US-based company, but assembly is done in China, and so are some other US companies like Inova/Niteize.
Pure US-designed and made flashlight companies include Surefire, Elzetta, HDS, Malkoff but boy, their flashlight are damn expensive, but their wokmanship and reliability are top-notch. And not forgetting Maglite too  tongue.gif

Elzetta series are not bad but they are not common in Malaysia... I always wanted their 2cell with crenelated bezel and high/strobe switch button. Our myr make it too exp to buy now cry.gif

Maglite led 2d are still not bad. I like the basic feel (no flashy setting. Its just purely on/off). Sucks that battery cant take it if I keep inside my car especially under hot sun.

I have two fenix and it served me well. Their pricing are not bad too... Not sure if it will last if put under extreme stress test ????

If it's Lithium ion chemistry, rechargeable. Keep in glove compartment, not in the boot, and generally although not absolute, not more than 2 hours. You want to avoid the battery feeling too hot to the touch after more than 6 hours of clear hot day (10am to 4pm). There are other small mitigations you can do to your car to help like dark tinting, sun shades, etc.

Its being a while i posted this but yeah I decide to carry it with me unless the area I would be is shaded or indoor parking which I would leave it inside the car.
