I dunno for sure if they're legal or not illegal, at least according to our customs they are not. And I haven't read or heard anything on rules or laws regarding green lasers (or lasers of any kind) in our country. You may still need a permit from PDRM, especially if you're going to buy a powerful laser like a Wicked Laser.

On a final note, if any of you buy one, don't go around shining it where it might possibly hit people or animals, and especially not at aircraft. All it takes is one or two news stories (or arrests) and we'll be in the same situation as other countries where lasers are widespread (lasers >5mW are illegal to buy in the US). And read up on the dangers of lasers (CPF has an entire section on lasers). HINT: Permanent eye damage may result from laser exposure. Lasers may be cool, but they are definitely not children's toys. Use them responsibly!

I am not 100% what is the P7 you mean, the SSC P7 LED mounted on "no star board"??
If you can remove the P7, then u can mount the Star-SST50 into it, if cannot, maybe this is what you mean, the star too big? If that is the case , you need to desolder the SST50 from the Star... I wonder how you desolder the P7 from the mag?

It is easy if you know the way to desolder, but definitely not the usual way, because the LED was solder underneath the SST50, so you can't access using soldering iron. More info please, or you can catch me in the DIY section in http://thebrightsideforums.com

Sure, the P7 is glued to the heatsink, you can remove the P7 and glue the SST50 into the heatsink, the heat will still transfer out, but you need thermal epoxy glue.

Anyway if you have pictures of the P7 mount on Maglite and the SST50 is easier for me to suggest anything.

BTW , how is the P7 sit on the heat sink, glue also? If yes, then you will need Thermal Adhesive, to glue the SST50 Star PCB to the Alu Heatsink of the Maglit.
