Received the Thrunite dropins from Uncle Wong today.

Here they are:

From left: Stock reflector, 2.7-9V w/SMO and 18650 only with OP reflector.
The emitter of the 18650 is very off-center.

This thing is very bright and throws good in a smooth reflector thumbup.gif . However, it gets really hot after a few seconds. Thanks again to Uncle Wong. If only the Thrunite Catapult came in parallel battery configuration....

Just found out that the Thrunite's emitter can be moved.

And now, it's centered.

The Thrunite pill in a Dereelight reflector for really centering of emitter.

The Thrunite P60 dropin is really bright. For that kind of price, Uncle Wong should do another round of GB for this dropin. thumbup.gif

Is that the current version L1 with the CREE LED?

Nice Megalennium James. Is that the parallel 3X18650?

It seems we're going the opposite way. I'm into small lights now.

That's good news, Lightjunk! Any of your M6 or Megalennium you want to part with" tongue.gif tongue.gif The only time I saw an M6 was in the Surefire display at Midvalley's ACE Hardware.

Not at the moment. I'm still in love with them  biggrin.gif
Don't know why I suddenly feel a strong urge to get an M6. Must have caught the Surefire bug! And unlike common flu, there's no cure for this.....

eow1973,

Congrats on your latest pruchase. Welcome to the M6 club  rclxms.gif. I saw you just bought a 2X18650 battery adapter too....hehehe...busy buying accessories for the new toy.

Don't know why but Surefire lights are so addictive. Just like cigarettes. doh.gif doh.gif

Anyway, just came back from work and the Thrunite dropin from Uncle Wong is really amazing. So bright for a P60 and on only one 18650 too. Plus that great price. thumbup.gif

With great power comes great responsibility (if it's a drop-in). Be careful.

That's why I bought a few more from Uncle's second GB. Already lost 3 dereelight dropins, 2 due to overheat and 1 because I put a 4.2V dropin in a 2X18500 host:x .

Anyway, I have received the M6 from JWYJ. What a beautiful light and in perfect condition, too! James really takes care of his lights. thumbup.gif I remember when I first got my M3, I dropped it on the toilet floor and dinged the tailcap the very first night. Thanks to James for this M6. Lucky the wife was already at school when the poslaju van came. tongue.gif

Just received James's (jwyj) Malkoff MD2 host. Like James said, the standard P60 dropins do not fit the MD2 bezel without some shaving. So I had the Dereelight XP-G reflector sand-papered until just right. Also found a piece of lens that came with the FM18650 body which had to be shaved too.

Thrunite 3.7V pill and Dereelight reflector in the bezel

The MD2 is shorter than my 6P
user posted image

MD2 (left) and 6P, narrower spill due to the small bezel opening. Both with Thrunite XP-G pill from Uncle Wong.
user posted image

Until a Malkoff dropin comes along, the Thrunite will have to do. The best thing about the MD2 is that despite the small body, it doesn't slip forward as you press the clicky unlike most Chinese-made lights.

eow1973,
how do you shave the lens to fit the MD2 head ?
In a most primitive way. Stuck 2 pieces of tape to protect the lens. Then, I just turn it on a piece of coarse sand paper until the proper diameter. Was trying to save some money by not getting a ready-made one from Malkoff.

By the way, I removed the inner spring of the Thrunite pill because the dropin was too long.

Maybe it's time for another Uncle Wong GB. But this time, it's going to be a Group Bore! thumbup.gif
