hey hi guys, i have some normal flashlights only, nothing fancy
but i have a question here, since u know we can get those 18650 batt from used notebook batteries, is there any ways or tools that can test if those batteries are usable?

i met some problems where i did charge some of the batteries at first it was fine, and then the next thing when i use, it's like totally flat all of sudden

i'm suspecting battery faulty or EOL but are there devices to test these?
i searched online but no feasible answer

thx

These are my methods (not the best but at least I don't need tools other than my hands and a multimeter)

-I'd dump any batteries that are lower than 2.8v when you pry those batteries out (don't want any of those undercharged battery crystals killing us)
-Any batteries that heats up to scary temperatures when charged with 1A goes into the bin (probably your battery died from internal resistance build ups)

-I have a flashlight that constantly draws 1A on high so I just run a timer on it to test my mAh's (if it's running a good constant 2 hour 30 minute on a 2500mAh cell before reaching 3.6v I'm pretty sure it's ok)

to test actual capacity then you might need an intellicharger like opus bt c3400 to see how much it runs. (good investment if you are salvaging laptop cells. I need one of these soon)

Opus BT C3100 charger is a god-send.
Makes my Xtar VC4 and Nitecore i4 chargers collecting dust.

Plus a good multimeter to check the voltage, so that you don't have to power in your charger

haha no wonder but still is nice to have
modded ones also
then some if u no like can donate away to frens or family also, that is if they know how to use with li-ion batt rite
i spent months trying to get one of my fren to upgrade to these flashlights but he's so reluctant cos of the batt issues, so he kinda only want AA types of battery flashlight
then recently i found he started using those li-ion batt already cos u know why?
he started vaping... doh.gif rclxub.gif
i even bought one for him to try out as beginner, now he can use same batt in his flashlight dy..

wa
alot to name le. you can see most of the models in the blf post djozz shared.

some of the notable lights would be trustfire x9 (stock) and trustfirs z8(rgbw led modded by djozz but only white and blue worked). Probably the only mod potential light other than the p60 hosts like singfire sf67 and ultrafire wf502b.

And he sure do love those extra warm LEDs. Mostly below the 4000-3500 kelvin. 3 of his heavy modded lights are extra warm LEDs. sweat.gif

others are kinda meh. Which is why he is donating it away as these are his least liked lights. rclxub.gif

i ordered 2 items from gearbest, only 1 made it so far and that was like 2 weeks plus ago already. i've written to them about the opus not yet here, seems need to wait bit longer
i've ordered stuff from china before but never had this long before, anyway i need to be patient some more before i make a refund case later
its now been 1 mth and 3 days still haven't arrive, even tho the 2 items i ordered on same date sad.gif
hopefully got good news later cry.gif
QUOTE(power911 @ Oct 14 2015, 02:55 PM)

ok noted guys,
yeah i already opened a ticket with them and they replied after 2 mths can file for refund
exactly i ordered quite lots of things already from BG, all arrived safely also including DX.com too
gearbest seems to have few stuff very cheap compared but if this one happens to me i'll stick with banggood in future smile.gif
thanks and cheers guys
ps:yeah free shipping option with no tracking here sweat.gif
let's see in another 2 weeks
QUOTE(power911 @ Nov 24 2015, 09:24 PM)
You did open a dispute/ticket right?
Did you pay for tracking? Usually free shipping takes more than 2 months (my experience from fasttech)
Lets just hope they didn't cheat on you rclxub.gif

QUOTE(widget @ Nov 25 2015, 02:13 PM)
Once you hit 2 months, from their shipped date, open a ticket and tell them you want a refund or reship.
If you pay using PayPal, tell them you will file a PayPal claim if they don't refund 100% or reship the item.
Their standard reply is they will only refund 50% if you don't buy shipping insurance, so you have to be firmed with your reply to them.
I had about 15 shipments from them with total value of closed to US$400 this past few months and 2 went AWOL. So be pepared for this kind of thing when ordering through GB.
I have about 10 orders from Banggood, and all were received within 2-3 weeks, even with free shipping
