I ordered a Nitefighter L1A because Gearbest had the cheapest stuff

But they just had to do the trick of saying "out of stock" when the website is clearly saying "in stock"

Well at least they updated the website the moment they replied the message that I send

to identify solid or hollow, leave it on high for less than one minute and you'll be able to feel warmth
that's the crude way to test


to make sure then you disassemble the front and pry the LED board to see if its hollow

Welp. Just got my Nitefighter L1A

Good light but I just had bad luck with it.
Gone through under some rain and the O Ring just sank into the reflector and I had a terrible time prying the light open, scratching the light and the reflector badly just to get the o ring away from the LED

In the process I broke the LED star and dedome the XPE and it looked great but then the XPE cracked and died from the LED star

Next I swapped an XML2 T6 3B into it to get rid of the ugly ringy reflector beam. Good Light.
Then it flickers and stopped lighting up. So I pry the light up again and the reflector grabbed the XML2 dome off, pulling the whole LED die apart tearing the bond wires.

It's dead now. Quality light just died from some weird flashlight curse. Wasted my pricy XML2 T6 3B. Never get to use it at all.

Right now I'm just having another XPE inside as I kinda gave up modding it.

ooohhhoho custom can be cheap but expensive too


with all these p60 mods I've played on this host alone (failed and success) it easily shoots beyond the price of a fenix pd35


Talk about Maglite, I happen to have a fake 3D maglite modded with a standard MR16 3W module. And it's been staying as my weapon in my car.



Incans are best but I got bored of its ugly beam profile so this had to go.




I got this MR16 3w for around RM8 shipped from fasttech if I'm not mistaken. Aliexpress sells them cheaper though.


Still maintaining the alkalines as it has more weight than a pair of 26650. Plus I'm direct driving 3 of the puny 1W LEDs inside parallel.



Easy power with easy brightness. More than enough to blind people. (Estimated 180-330 lumens)



Really floody for this light. Clean beam and still visible even under 4pm sunlight



I really liked how it served me very well inside my car. The classic weight of it makes me confident that I could break a skull or two if I hit someone with this.
Plus with that brightness I could blind someone and drive away if needed.

Still waiting for the XML2 U4 1C from intl outdoor

SC52 is using an old XML emitter
you might need to consider something brighter since you are only using eneloops (plus zebralight is kinda pricy like $60? and the SC600 is like $90? )
Not to forget the SC600 is an 18650 light. Not an AA or AAA light

I'm not sure what do you like about the Zebralight but I would suggest Thrunite Archer 1A V2
You can get it in cool white or neutral white (cool white in XPL but neutral would be XPG2 in around 4C tint)
Plus it is much more affordable in price and it has a very useful ultra low moonlight mode for night time use.

Other alternatives would be Nitecore EA11 as it has useful additional modes to play/showoff/use
Also this has a battery charge indicator in case you wanna check for voltage.

Choose your poison. I'd suggest thrunite as their customer service is excellent.

I might be a bit late to talk about Fenix E20 or E25 but the Thrunite Archer 1A V2 or 2A V2 is a killer over these Fenix lights.
Fenix recently had an issue with their poor anodization. I would trust the Thrunite over Fenix for its durability and mode spacings

warm and cool is hard to choose especially when you are considering indoor vs outdoor

I personally go all cool for urban concrete but warm for grassy nature walk

honestly I'd just tape scotch tape to make a full flood mule light if ever needed but the flood on zebralight are generally wide and useful for walking distance so it's ok.
