ITS HERE!! rclxm9.gif rclxm9.gif rclxm9.gif

Actually it's been here since last week but finally got my light programmed to the way I like it.
And now it's my current EDC light wub.gif wub.gif wub.gif

I got the XM-L2 U2 1A tint though. Kinda missed the warm whites I always had but this S2+ is so diffused that the ugly blue/purple/green tint was not noticeable so I'd say this 1A tint was kinda pretty good white whistling.gif

I opt for the 1 amp version as the 2.8 amp version would probably go hot too fast. My Convoy C8 gets uncomfortably hot on 2.8 amp withing less than 3 minutes of use on high thumbup.gif

Did you buy the 18350 tube with your S2+ as well?
It looks sweet and feels nicer with shorter body

too poor to buy 18350 battery so no tube for me lolol
(didn't really wanted it though. Pocket clip would be awkward for short tube thou)
I had a 16340 light that I didn't use cuz it heats up too fast so I kinda didn't invest on 16340/18350 laugh.gif

The stock 18650 S2+ is already smaller than my daily EDC so I'm cool now. laugh.gif

Words of caution:
The stainless steel light is effing heavy, don't think it will ever leave the house.
If you buying them for normal usage, the aluminium version is the more sensible option.

The copper X5 is the star of the show though.

i bought the Nitecore P12GT.

there are too many brands n models, i didn't even know how to pick. So I just refer to the highest quantity sold. after i received the flashlight, i then realized that it's not using aa-size battery. so i searched and bought this 18650 battery (initially i thought it was something like a code for the aa battery. silly me).

if i know about this thread, i will surely ask for ur opinions first.

Nitecore?
I have 4 Nitecores already, and continue growing... tongue.gif
Just some of my lights collection.

If you are new to 18650 battery or any other Lithium-Ion batteries, just make sure you use reputable batteries.
Avoid those batteries that end with "fire" like Ultrafire, Trustfire, Tangsfire, etc except maybe SureFire and Windyfire.
Get a reliable charger too, and avoid those brands I mentioned above.

If in doubt, get the Nitecore brand's battery and charger, although they are a bit on expensive side

initially i was searching at lelong for the 18650 battery. however the price range is so huge, from RM 10 to RM 100. didn't even know how to pick. i then checked online for recommendations, and found this brand olight. very expensive battery and very few sellers. however, unlike other brands, this one has better packaging (i was kinda worrying if others are fake one and will burn and explode during charge). i oso bought the nitecore d4 charger since my existing charger is too small for the 18650 battery.

while i was checking for the olight battery, i found out that this brand oso got a lot of nice flashlights, like the Olight S30R II Baton that comes with a charging dock. sudah gatal and thinking to buy one. haha

====

sifu, where u bought all these flashlights? online? share the seller info with me pls.
oso, which is the one that u like the most? i think that huge nitecore must be more than rm1k rite? thumbup.gif

I tend to buy my flashlights from online stores like Banggood, Gearbest, Fasttech from HK or China.
But I don't buy at their retail prices as you can get very good discount if you join groupbuy or ask for discount codes over at CandlePowerForums (CPF) or BudgetLightForum (BLF).
For example, the big Nitecore TM16 in my photo has a retail price of US$199, but using discount code/group buy, the final price is about US$120 including shippng.
Just a guide that normally Nitecore flashlghts can be had with 40-45% discount from their RRP if you know where to buy them, but caveat is you forego local warranty and have to ship your lights back to China for repair works or warranty claims.

As for batteries, I tend to buy Keeppower for protected button-top as Olight or Nitecore batteries are a bit expensive.
If you need flat-top batteries (but normally Nitecore flashlights need button-top), you can just get the factory stock batteries from Panasonic/Sanyo, Samsung, LG or Sony.
