I having an iphone 3gs 32gb australia set. Brought at january. Nothing wrong till 2 days ago, i woke up in the morning and my iphone both speaker no sounds, mic functionless.. at first msg and carrier still ok. but till yesterday totally out jz like ipod touch, only wifi can use.. my carrier keep no service, headphones jack no sounds when i plug in headphones. Please advice what should i do because if need to send back warranty at australia it need at least 1month. if i repair at malaysia what is the prob? what is the range price? PLEASE ADVISE!

*I suspect internal wrong because i put in my pocket 3days ago and a very great impact i fell down hit at my as* and the iphone was at my front pocket.

try restore using itunes.. australia set is officially unlock, semua sim boleh pakai ma...

anyway that's a lot off stuff suddenly not functioning sure no one accidentally spilt water on it without telling u or something...? d only thing u can do is send to an apple service centre n hope for the best i guess...

the phone just cant suddenly malfunction right? maybe something u did that provoked the malfunction. do try to think what it is and maybe we can help you.

i would suggest u to do a clean restore but i guess that should be your last resort when u have tried everything to fix it...

you didn't specify how you got the unit in the first place; whether it was from apple store and from network

theres a local repairer for iphone, his nick is CXCR. u can PM him and he'll try to repair it for u. still if u wanted to send it to Apple Australia also can. but i dont know where they will entertain it since u broke it or maybe they'll fix it for a charge... and maxis wont entertain iphone repairs other than its own iphone thats for sure....

yes the warranty might void if they found out it my fault.. but i send email to them i didnt mention at all my iphone felt b4.. btw if u look at my iphone no scratchess o any thing suspicion dat i faulty it..

TS, sorry if u think i replying spam in you thread.. I read all you statement, but u not tell us u has try to restore, that why i suggest u to restore it..

I think you should unscrew your iPhone and try to reattach all the cables. Probably the impact loosen some of the connectors although the possibility quite low...

You can find a lot of youtube links on how to open up iphone...

Impact to iPhone can cause the cable connectors to become loose. I seen it happen before, but my case it was the screen cable connector became loose. Maybe similar happened to your audio cable?

Edit: BTW, I did open up my iPhone to see if I can reconnect the loose cable myself. Conclusion: either send it in for warranty, or leave it to the pros! Better you pay for their services then you accidentally ter-make things worse.

i don't see why the seller must response to you since it have been roughly 3 months since you had the phone. It was ok all along until you broke it.

yes bro, u do hav point but wat the use of warranty if i buy the iphone and now the board hav been damaged.. i barr myself? den no need warranty la! wats the point giving warranty out..? i admit is my faulty but the prob is i wan to claim my warranty.

To me the warranty is between you and the end seller which in this case would be Apple. He is just a reseller for the phone. If you send to him also he will need to send it to Apple/telco in Australia. That is the warranty between you and Apple/telco actually. One reason why some people favor to buy local or S'pore set compared to others.
Also when some people sell those phones they will forgo more profit margins since if they sell it and it's working fine then buyer will need to bare the responsibility of claiming warranty especially after months of usage with no problem.
Those providing the service to claim warranty etc is based on goodwill, marketing, profit taken consideration so that people will buy from them. That's my view anyway
Since you admitted it's your fault maybe you can text/pm him asking if he can provide those services and you will pay for all the cost associated.

yes i agreed, i even wan said i pay for express courier to send back for warranty but seller avoid it and the end alot of argument and seller ask me go to hell. End of stories he avoid wan send my iphone bak to australia.

not sure if you actually courier (as in the reliable one like fedex, DHL et cetera) the iPhone.

because the last time i wanted to (i have helped the LYN peeps to purchase 3GS last year) and they will not courier them because of the built in batteries.

they will only accept them if i can remove the batteries separately

I have been following this thread and though I try not to get involved, I cannot restrain myself. I must say I am really bemused.

When you buy something from an authorized dealer, yes you can go back to that party for a warranty claim but when it is bought from an individual, unless he/she gives you a personal warranty and that too will be for a limited period, you would have to resort to your own device to submit to the right party for the warranty claim. So, please stop whining and either find a way to send your iPhone to OZ for the claim yourself or check out GS here for someone to repair it for you at a cost.

I am not trying to 'beat up' anyone but let's be pragmatic.

TS was like ignorant..the only way u can do is send ur phone to australia for warranty or pay for technician to repair..
is useless to find back the seller as he is not from apple store..he duno how to fix ur iphone and wont risk to help u send ur iphone to australia(in case something in sending process.)

+1. Beside that, If U send the iphone to him if he run away u will have to say good bye to ur iphone.. that why local set is more expensive then oversea set.. in case if anything happen u also can go for urself..

if aus later he disappear at the end u get nothing..
