1. Kawasaki ninja 250R - RM23K (fuel injection '10 model)
Pro:
- good beginner bike
- decent handling
- resell value
Con:
- kindda small for a 6' man like myself, not comfy for long legs. handle bar almost knocked my knee when making sharp turns.
- pricey for a 250cc.
- skinny and similar looking as the smaller 150cc NSR, TZM and super KIPS 150 

2. Kawasaki ER6N - RM34K
Pro:
- one of the cheapest 650cc
- badass & muscular looking
Con:
- seriously beyond my budget
- no windscreen, fighting the wind at >120km/h will put much load on both arms unless sticking the chin on the tank. might not suitable for weekend cruising.
- poor ergonomics for 6 footer. crampy for long legs

3. Honda VTR250 2010 - Price TBA
Pro:
- V-twin
- great ergonomics
- quality built (its a honda )
- italian style like a baby ducati monster
- price tag fits my pocket (in thai, VTR is 5000baht cheaper than kawa 250R)
Con:
- yet to be launched, will it ever reach Msia? 
- 3hp less then kawa 250R ( VTR 29hp, 250R 32hp). it may sound insignificant, but thats 10%hp less, do the math!
- missing 6th gear
- could be expensive if CBU (Kawa 250R is rm21k because its CKD, if this VTR isnt CKD....  
(until today there is still no news about this bike, i guess we should forget about the VTR)

4. Honda CBR250 2011 - Price TBA (Est RM20k+)
Pro:
- Honda = built quality, reliable & durable, plenty of spareparts
- ABS (optional)

Con:
- single cylinder OMG   this one is killing me.
- CBU from thai unless Boon Siew localize it
- only 13L tank (ninja has 17.4L)

KSR 110? it may be small, but looks very nice. only 7k

if u like that kind of sound on the 250 try get er6n sounds more powerful and faster than 250r.

honestly if i have no choice i wud rather choose er6n or klx150, dtracker 250 over ninjz 250r, they sounds better than 250 ninja. but i wud preffer inline 4 cylinder sound like cbrf4i
or you can opt for kawasaki dtracker 250 (supermoto), with extra cash if u want to, try mod it with accessories and tune the bike better.

supermoto front fender, rear fender and seats. high handle bar. etc etc

go with the Er6n (yes I know its over your budget, but in the long run, you'll be happy you took the 650.

extremely reasonably priced for a big motorbike in Malaysia compared to its "luxury" brethren.

I dont think you plan to ride 250+ kmph right?
This bike will cruise at 150 perfectly for hours. 17L full tank might take you around 300 km (but this one gotta confirm with the owners first)

The er6f to me is just not worth the extra 7k for the fairing.
If I wanted speed so badly I'll just save more for a CBR 600.
Going for the 250 R is fine if you feel you're a beginner and absolutely in no hurry when you makan angin. And doesnt lose out on looks either.

Which showroom did u went to? Didn't try Ninja 250r while u were there?
the ninja riding position not too radical so it's quite comfortable..sat on it before..if u are around pj area we can have  TT and i can let u test my bike

A 5'10'' rider still looks ok riding it, although anyone over 6 feet may want to consider something a bit bigger or risk looking clownish.

I also would like to get kawa 250r...... I don't really need speed.... Just want to have a good bike that suits my body size 164cm and 90kg (fatty)...

Mine is year 2009, bought it on April, mileage clock was 20k, n price is Rm17.5k at Welly Batu Caves. These place is highly recommended. Its a used bike tho. And i'm the 2nd owner.

Well, after i got my bike on the first day, i already change the muffler into AHM carbon. U can say the original setting was very...dull. So to add some fun, i need a good sound coming from my bikes. and AHM did really pull it off.. it sounded more like easy rider compare to superbike tho... not sure if u guys like that kind of setting. Well most people prefer Yoshimura. It have this higher note sound. Not that it sounded like 600cc superbike above..

N did some test at Genting. My bike sometimes semput or not that powerful when it comes to climbing Genting road.. u know Carbs rite? If its an Injection model, it would be a diff story already. The RPM meter when i rev it to the metal, it will stuck to 9k..while evyone else gets 10-12k... maximum is 14k.. i went to Genting with this outcome for almost a month, once a week. Always kena tinggal one..coz slow. haha. damn 250.

only solution would be changing the whole pipes into FUll system. that cost me Rm450. Total change including muffler was Rm1.3k. I did it at NKS Sentul 
n the result of the performance... is so bloody diff. u can say if i go head to head drag with another 250, i can tinggal him like 1 tiang or 2. Changing into full system really gets all those sleepy RPM into WORKS! N that time, Genting was fun. Going to uphill ofcoz. Downhill is diff story coz it really tears off ur balls. One wrong move, could be fatal. haha...

N afta a while, i change back the whole thing into original setting. Its all becoz i live a peaceful and silent neighbourhood (Hartamas) n that exhaust is damn one of a annoyance. Its too LOUD. Well, since i did rasa all those racing n thrill at Genting, i dun really mind taking it off and start to ride slow onwards. n i really did. But, somehow, the fun is diff. I mean, u can say the original setting are definitely Better. Smooth, not so loud and feels jaz nice. Best thing is? In my 5 months of owning the bike, it never breakdown, gives a crap or ROSAK at all.

Kawasaki definitely a good choice 

If u guys arranging a TT, i might as well join u. If u guys wanna go to Genting, no problem. Its been a while since i go there
