*deep breath*
I am seriously considering throwing out this recorder, and swearing off LG for good.
It now does not even get past the "Hello" screen now. Before it got to this problem, picture quality was deteriorating. You thought Astro quality was bad on LCD/Plasma? try Astro through the RH387H, and you'll know the definition of bad. Banding, stutter on full white screens. It wasn't Astro's fault, as the problem continued when I played DVDs through the system. Routing the Astro signal direct to the TV and voila! No more stutter, no more banding.
DVD drive doesn't open correctly. I need to pull out the caddy physically, insert the disc quickly and MANUALLY push it in, making sure my fingers and the disc are out of harm's way. It nearly destroyed my LOTR: Extended edition DVD!
And don't get me started on the HDMI bit. (HDMI problems)
I love the timer recording & timeshift bits, but the rest of it is just buggy, useless junk!
*rant over*
Oh, and the warranty's over already, so that doesn't help. It's probably gonna cost more to repair it than to get a cheap Blu-Ray player. *sigh*
Okay, going home tonight to do a factory reset through the service screen. see if that works to bring this beast back from the dead.
Close to giving up on my LG RH387H, buggy, poor quality pictures
