After these while of spending time reading many threads about case-modding, finally I decided to do my own... just for fun. rclxms.gif

So, I have this no-name casing, owned it for 6 years now. The system inside was upgraded bit by bit, until recently I noticed
this have become a totally different system from before; not even the original HDD is there.

So my main goals here are:
1) Replace the missing side panel (DIY).
2) Do something about 3.5" HDD bay.
3) Repaint until cannot recognize anymore... hehe.

So I will update bit by bit... and of course any input/suggestion from fellow forumers (any Sifu especially) would be most
welcomed. This being my first time, so kalau salah tolong jolokkan 'k? notworthy.gif

2x 120mm? Wahh.. I think can muat 1 only.

BTW.. I dunno how to reserve post, so can only update after somebody reply sweat.gif

First of all.. I dismantled all the parts & de-rivet (is this the right term?) quite a bit.

Then I started to strip the paints for outside panels. Din't know the stripper substance stings like hell when in contact with skin.
Note to self: No more doing DIY shirtless + shorts only.

I had no idea the clear coat was so thick (or is it because I use the cheapo stripper), so had to apply & scrape several times.
Until feel dizzy with the fumes. Finally...

Then sand kaw2 with 400 grit until elbow becomes grey with silicon dust.

BTW, my DIY sand block is actually this...

Started to cough like crazy (what with the fumes & dusts), so have to stop there.

Haha.. sorry.. Edited. No more thumbnails.

Today I decided to start hard modding the HDD bay. Before this, I tried showing around hardware shops to see if they can cut
it for me, but no luck coz it's steel, not aluminium. Then the tauke suggest me use hacksaw with some strong blade (sold
seperately). Very clever to up his sale, but had no choice but to trust him.

Wake up, breakfast, and pumped up to do it (pictured with the aforementioned saw).

After hurting my arm grinding it (no apit G summore!), & filed to perfection...

Ok, time to see if my effort actually pays off. Mock setup (with a couple of rivets & actual HDD):

And since in the cutting mode, I decided to do some for my front chasis. Sorry, my room is a bit dark.

Removed the extra panel & fan grill. Am planning to put 120mm intake there since no more HHD in the way. Here it is after cutting,
hacking & half-@$$ed filing (have to stop before neighbours complain).

My coughing actually got worse, so I think have to wait a bit to continue this project. Maybe next time I'll update about
the side panel replacement.

nice.. or maybe you can use acrylic.. then u put tinted..

rolled aluminium/steel can be quite tough to maintain its flat shape.. unless u put some beam..
