wanna ask, is it true that LCD TV only can last for like 30k to 60k hours and breakdown?

from what i see from the user manual, it say that my LCD TV only have like 30k hours of lifetime

is there anyone break the mark and the TV still serve you well? form my rough calculation, 30k takes about 3 years for normal usage.

the house at my hometown which my father live in have changed the cabinet to a new one, nowadays the cabinet all design for newer generation TV (you know what i say, size of plasma, LCD, LED and OLED), so the old bulky TV doesn't really fit the cabinet well and the cabinet is too low and the bulky TV doesn't have a stand like LCD TV.

so i was going to convince my father to get a new TV for himself, he always say old TV is better, clearer and last longer

since the living room is quite big, if change to LCD TV sure need a larger one, like a 40", he say this for example, you spend 5k for a 40" TV, yet the TV only able to last few years, while those old bulky CRT able to last a decade, and now those LCD TV all running on widescreen, watch TV that time see those people in TV all appear to be fatter (this is because of the respect ratio, you know i know la, but they dont know ) so how are you going to convince those folks to move on to newer technology?

all my relative surround my parents always say that CRT TV is way better because they last longer and better clarity, and also they say is the CRT TV breakdown, is it possible to fix while LCD TV cannot, is it true? i'm not sure

we all know that LCD TV give way lot more benefits to us, like health issues, at least it wont hurt your eyes when watching at close distance, better picture quality and lightweight.

did you all experienced this kind of problem before? like your friends, relatives or parents who are not willing to move on to newer technology, how you deal with them?

what do you mean by the electric component? is it backlight, and those electric board things?

backlight should last at least 30k-60k hours right?

maybe my wrong calculation, my math is epic failure

the LCD TV in my house now is on for like 10 hours per day due to my gaming habit

let's say if the backlight can last for a decade, then what about the other component inside?

but why folks tends to say that LCD TV only able to last for few years?

did you all really have problem with viewing 4:3 video source in 16:9? i mean those stretching, for me there is no problem, i always prefer a LCD TV over CRT TV, but dont know why there are still many people who dislike the widescreen and newer technology

but still, you cant stuck with CRT TV forever,, for what issues that some old folks like to stick with the CRT TV?

is it if the LCD TV start to give problem, it cant be fix?
