Delayed and Most Confusing Match Report Ever
LYN 2 - LYN 1On a bright and sunny Sunday afternoon, the LYN boys showed their class by scoring two brilliant goals against a surprisingly resistant LYN team. Unfortunately for LYN, the LYN boys were playing for MyRawk.
Nevertheless, all three goals were scored by LYN players, as the one LYN player who played for MyRawk also played for LYN, therefore technically the score should have been MyRawk 1 - LYN 0, or rather LYN 1 - LYN 0, considering that the other scorer was also an ex-LYN player who was playing for MyRawk but did not play for LYN that day but was playing for LYN for the past 3-4 games vs MyRawk and various other teams and in fact has been LYN's one decent player but has since moved on to represent a more "professional" team such as MyRawk, who incidentally over the years has poached LYN players such as AW13 and Offside King, but they do play for LYN whenever LYN faces any team other than MyRawk, which is practically once in a blue moon.
MyRawk had also recruited LYN's nipply striker (with 3 nipples) Waile, but his contribution was exactly like his nipples… In patches.
LYN had the lion's share of possesion in the first period. Aided by the strong running of Miketee James (who is actually a MyRawk player who started LYN futsal, but was playing for LYN that day), LYN arguably played the best half (or one third) in their chequered field football history. Unfortunately, LYN did not capitalise on this and the first period ended at 0-0
MyRawk started the second period well, capitalising on the substitution of super duper defender, Naz James. A lapse in concentration allowed ex-LYN start John Pengsan to break free from the offside trap and coolly slot the ball under the on-rushing Howard James.
Due to the defection of nipply striker Waile, LYN exacted some form of revenge by poaching Ronaldo Yaya (who actually started with LYN futsal but was supposed to play for MyRawk, but was poached by LYN) to join them for the 2nd period. For the record, Ronaldo Yaya was late as he attended a funeral, but he was laughibly sorrry about it. Nevertheless, Eric Cheong Mun James'
cunting cunning in recruiting Ronaldo Yaya for the 2nd period paid off, as the real NIPPY striker pulled one goal back for LYN.
Again, the LYN team started to gain back possession in the 2nd period and were close to threathening the MyRawk goal on a few occasions. One incident was a contentious decision by the referee to call Pono for offside. Anyone watching LYN for the past year would know that there is no way that Pono can be caught offside.
The confidence displayed by LYN could be due to the moral support provided by injured talisman, Kang Phee James and his umbrella, as pictured below.

MyRawk started the 3rd period well and started to dominate possesion. Sensing a barage on their goal mouth, LYN deployed the Park-The-Bus tactic to preserve a deserved draw (Park-The-Naz tactic was unavailable, as Naz James succumbed to the curdling effects of a Green Tea Latte). This worked well, as MyRawk was unable to find a way past the resolute LYN defence and the in-form Howard James.
However, LYN were undone by stunning set-piece goal. Ronaldo Yaya, the LYN futsaller recruited by MyRawk but played for LYN in the 2nd period, was now playing for MyRawk. This proved to be a masterstroke by MyRawk, is he curled a wonder free kick into the corner to leave the in-form Howard James rooted to the ground.
2-1 was the final score with MyRawk emerging victorious yet again. It was a good fight by the LYN team, but unfortunately, the brilliance of LYN proved to be the downfall of LYN.
