Better set the increment bits by bits...much more safer that way..i also do the same thing and see which high value can be use nod.gif..

@BBX
What your temp while playing BS2 on native res??

Added on April 12, 2010, 10:03 amWell, after trying multiple of drivers on LV2G...seems like none can beat Dox for lowest temp while gaming..now on 197.16, temp while playing BS2 on native res is 97C for GPU sweat.gif...before this using 195.62 (Dox) for a merely 94C smile.gif...maybe i try changing to Dox 195.62 again later and see if the temp improved icon_idea.gif...

Yup, i played with this setting all the time but seems like today the heat just way off, wondering maybe the weather also the problem because today is way hot sweat.gif...

Maybe because i use different driver?? Now using 197.16 smile.gif...Dox 195.62 is better with temp nod.gif

haha ^^..got volunteer to do the heatsink mods brows.gif...

QUOTE(DoubleU @ Apr 12 2010, 08:51 PM)
lol miahahah i think got more to do with the driver you're using. If you switch to 195.62 see what temp you get? cause i don't think it can hit 100C
*
I think so too but still, afternoon playing is ok hmm.gif..i try change to Dox 195.62 and see what happen nod.gif...

doh.gif..you should have search for S57 instead of S42 sweat.gif...well, maybe you can sell of your S42 & get S57 instead but do remember that S57 now is RM3299 which with that money you can buy Lenovo Y460 brows.gif...

the fatness is becuz of the aspect ratio??? since 16:9 will make the monitor shorter and fatter than 16:10...

anyway, personal experience with Acer's Ultrathin design is that, u'll appreciate it... it makes portability a much easier task... nod.gif even my friend is saying that my netbook is much more sleeker and easier to carry compared to his (a N270 NEC netbook that looks like a brick... laugh.gif)
*
haha ^^...my friend also got one Aspire One (the first batch that also looks like a brick laugh.gif)...

Yes, my thought as well..i think because of the aspect ratio of 16:9 makes it look fatter & shorter...but Acer really good at this as the Notebook looks slim and nice..same goes with 4740G/4745G and others, though they have the same 16:9 ratio...

btw guys, if i hook my laptop to a HDTV via HDMI, when i play a DVD captured in HD format, will it show in HD? do we need a HD player to play HD-DVDs ar ? or my normal DVD drive is sufficient ? the DVD doesn't look HD.. even my downloaded movies look sharper.
*
A normal DVD player will do smile.gif...no need for a HD player..

Added on April 17, 2010, 5:49 amand uh.. any s57 users here??

can let me know if can feel heat on palm rest??
*
Batusai,

1. Battery cannot charge, common problem for S57...any S57 owners encounter this once, just send over to SC and they will fix it (iirc, they will change the MOBO)

2. Battery life on S57, the least you can do is 2 hours plus, tweak a bit then maybe you can get around 3 hours nod.gif

3. We here all experienced BenQ RMA, so far for me, its quite ok compare to others, not that bad smile.gif

4. S57 got no HYBRID function, only ATi HD4650 for the GPU, there's no Intel GMA like S42 smile.gif

5. S57 won't have the HEAT PALM REST problem as iirc, the GPU are located at somewhere on the left upper side and the HDD is lower right side...and also, S57 is 15.6" which is better in cooling (much more space) compared with S42 smile.gif
