I too received a SMS from my SA on the promo -

Purchase Forte/Rondo/New Facelifted Sportage will enjoy FOC 1 unit 32" LG LCD TV and 1st year insurance. Purchase Picanto and Citra and enjoying FOC 1 unit Samsung Digital Camera and 1s year insurance. Further information pls call XXXXX @ xxxxxxxxxxxxx. Open for booking now.

Sounds like its for all Forte range but may be just clever copywriting to entice ppl to go - maybe only for Forte EX only.

Anyhow if it applies to all Forte models, the LCD TV may be RM1399 in value and for those with already 55% NCB should then get to save RM1K+ so total should be RM2.4K discount. Not bad then

contemplating getting the forte now instead of waiting for the new optima... tempting tempting...

but guess the prospect of 2.0 turbo, 6 speeder and the really gorgeous look might just sway me away...

Don't wait for the new Optima if you desperately need a new ride now... it's scheduled for 2011 outside of Korea, hence the fastest you can get it will be late this year. South east Asia usually get their cars slower than other regions, so you're probably looking at late 2011 or even 2012. Singapore will likley get it earlier than Msia.

If cannot wait, may opt for new sonata YS, sure can get 2010. (sonata ys ,optima both under same Hyundai-Kia umbrella..kakaka)
not to say can't wait or not... Thought it would launch late this yer like forte (end of the year)... But if launch end of next year, I am not too sure then...

Anyway I like the sonata but with my Sis most likely getting it, not sure if I should... More over my other Sis likes it too...

Also dunno if they will take in 2.0 turbo... Hahaha... Heard that they are quite reluctant on that... Lauching os without turbo...

It would be a miracle if Naza brings the Optima in so fast. After all, they were almost 1 year late in bringing in the Forte and we all knew what happened to the 2.0L.

The 2.0 Turbo is not for every market. North America will be getting it, other regions most likely not. Australia won't though, although personally I think the Koreans and Japs should do what VW is doing - using smaller, more fuel efficient engines but turbo/supercharge it to provide adequate power. At the moment the known engines for the Optima are as below:

Anyway, the colours available for the Optima are pretty similar to the Sonata, except that Kia doesn't offer a metallic turqoise/teal.

I couldn't agree more that kia should take the vw route... maybe their turbo is not as reliable as other manufacturers say prince engine or vw... but the fact that NA market is one of the markets where consumers's vehicle turnaround time is fast and secondary market prices not a main issue, thus probably that made sense to have turbo for that market... not to mention cafe regulations that they have... turbo made lots of sense...

however i do just hope that in any case if they do plan to make turbo available for other markets, hopefully naza would be the first to raise their hands to say i am gonna sell it...

Optima at the moment is the one car that i would really love to have in my garage in terms of looks (if price not a factor)... it has the most "garang" look among its peers in segment wise and/or price wise... stationary or moving, it looks way better than that of the T and H brands...

Haven't even bought the car yet... how to join... hahaha... waiting for my new Optima (might be just be crazy enough to pre-book as soon as i can for the high specs but know i would be disappointed by naza and our dear custom officers)... However long, i am willing... not that i really need a car now... so i am determined to buy only the cars i love...

By the way, I found out the extent of Malaysians being really really biased to those T and H brands... All my sis's friends say that Korean cars are lousy and expensive on petrol and spares without even knowing how well they are really doing now and how comparable are these spares and maintenance is right now... I told her that is nonsense as looking down south (singapore), you could find all the parts you want and those who says T and H are cheap is because they bought those refurbished ones without even knowing they were conned and still think that it is original parts... these girls could be that ignorant... (not saying that this applies to all and if i did offend anyone, sorry)

Anyone with the 2.0 SX could give their opinion in terms of the drive? NVH? and etc etc? For me, the 1.6 SX was just okay in terms of drive as the gearbox was rather jerky at times. Seriously comparing this againts another C segment car... But just too bad i can't find any 2.0 Test drives around...
