Hey guys,
I really need a hand or 2 here. rclxub.gif . Last week, i got an offer from Halliburton in Well Completion Department. I was really excited and decided to give a try with them. And later today, i just got another phone call from Transocean in Subsea Training. Help me decide the best from these 2. Really need the otai2 here in lowyat forum.

Halliburton
1. Salary - ~3000rm basic
2. Working Hours - 9-5 i guess (Offshore when needed. A bit unplanned)
3. Benefits -
4. Future prospect (Market demand) -
5. Job scopes -

Transocean
1. Salary - >3500rm basic
2. Working Hours - 12 hours shift. 1 month offshore, 2 weeks off. (would be 1 month on, 1 month off when the program finish)
3. Benefits -
4. Future prospect (Market demand) - Forever working offshore?
5. Jobs scopes -

Feel free to comment of what i wrote.

I know many people in the marine industry who would give an arm and a leg to work for transocean. A large number of engineers jumped ship from bohai project to transocean a few years back.

Hopefully you dont become on of those engineers who dont know anything except reviewing and approving job orders and ensuring that the work is done on scheduled then knowing the actual job scope and the challenges that comes with it.
