Nokia 5800 XpressMusic a.k.a "TUBE" v.27

Improved information & solutions, read yourself !

Introduction

Announced at Nokia's Remix event in London, at the beginning of October 2008, the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic is a mid-range, music focused phone, running S60 5th Edition on Symbian OS 9.4, with a 3.2 megapixel camera, integrated GPS, WiFi and HSDPA connectivity, and a 3.2 inch touch screen. It's the last item on this feature list which draws attention to what would otherwise be a fairly standard mid range phone. There's no doubt that it is going to garner attention, coming in the wake of the recent spate of touch phones, including, of course, the Apple iPhone. While it's not Nokia's first touch phone (Nokia 7700/7110) or its first recent touch device (Nokia N810), it is the first S60 touch enabled phone and is a significant landmark in Nokia's mobile device story. However, it is worth noting from the start that it is not "Nokia's touch phone", instead it is the first in a portfolio of touch enabled phones from Nokia. From firmware V20.0.012 onwards, the 5800's CPU clock was increased from 369MHz to 434MHz matching the N97 specification. However, improved overall performance can be observed at firmware V30.

On August 2009, Nokia announced a new variant named Nokia 5800 Navigation Edition. In addition to the normal Nokia 5800 it has the latest version of Ovi Maps pre-installed, loaded with a lifetime license of drive and walk navigation (which otherwise requires subscription on the non-Navigation Edition 5800). It also comes with a car charger and car kit inside the box.

This is an important distinction because, while the 5800 can tell us much about Nokia's touch platform generally, it can only be fairly assessed in the context of its own market positioning (music focused, cost of 279 Euro before taxes and subsidies).

For more ideas, talks, shares, problems and solutions are alot, and already discussed on these Nokia 5800 XpressMusic threads, and we're at the edge, all 20 ++ series of thread has everything, feel free to use keywords such as GARMIN, HACK, FREEWARE, SOLUTION, LCD, BATTERY, MAPS, SENSOR, WALLPAPER and others which comes in your mind, and you will get it. All the threads are power packed in here.

Please sit back & enjoy the thread !
Regards,

Yup. I've been on a few audiophiles forum and it's been agreed that 5800's audio quality is superb. Some people already swapped their iPods for 5800s (not iPod touch though).

I no need to reconsider mate i know what i am talking about. 5800XM only good in speaker but not thru a earphone or headphone i even paired it with my X3i it sound crappy when paired with ipod nano it sound amazing.

Last time when i bought my 5800XM i wanted to replace my ipod nano then when i listen i was like one with ipod nano it sound so good when change to 5800XM it sound like sounds 256kbps bitrate songs downgrade to 92kbps music thru 5800XM. This personal experience so i no need to reconsider.

Furthermore we already discuss this many many version back so if u need more info search thru

Are u using very high end IEMs like IE8 or headphones like HD650?If so i can imagine it being extremely crappy though

But i guess cheaper ones are more forgiving
