Agreed on separate topic since the XBMC is great software with many feature + multiple OS support. Sure the will be a lot's of question.
As for me, started using XBMC since 2005/6. Can't remember, really long time a go. Use xbmc live since I can customize the linux.
AMD 4400 + Nvidia 9400. Works great even with 25Gb mkv file.

I am XBMC user as well. It is a great software. Better than media portal IMO. AMD processor (forgot the spec ) with ATI 4350 card.

I have been using MediaPortal all this while. Never tried XBMC. Why do you say XBMC is better? If it is way better, I might try it too.

I posted this message at HTPC title, think I better paste the post here: I found a tutorial page that may benefit most of us that want to tweak our remote controller for XBMC. XBMC remote controller Configuration tutorialsAnd there's this PDF file that show how to make XBMC sensitive to remote control too: Click here

Can it merge multiple folder movies into one view or folder. This is the reason I switch from MediaPortal to MCE + MediaBrowser.

I tried the XBMC last night, and follow the PDF file I posted earlier to enable the remote control. The generic remote works partially after that. So I believe the instruction will surely make it better.
Do note according to the XBMC.org, newer version is expected to come out soon, which may be able to run HD video.
