Hi fellow forumers, I want to know is there any recomended dog training centre?
I have a 2 years old poodle and he has some quite aggresive behavior.
he knows exactly where to pee and poo as i've trained him before.
But when we neglect him or leave him alone, he will purposely pee else where.
when scold him he will "grrr" in return.
even if beat him, lock him in cage as punish also would not change his attitude.
the more you scold/beat him, the more aggresive "Grrr" he will return to you.
i would like to find a good training centre to train him out of this aggresive behaviour.
I'm not looking for those centres which train dog to perform tricks.
Hope i'll get some answers in here.
thx~

Edit : I'll be sending one of my dogs there for training on Tuesday. Will let you know if they're good or not smile.gif

Yup! I sent my dog on Wednesday. I'll be visiting him next week to have a look on the progress.

The trainer, Carlos has been training dogs in Malaysia for 12 years.
He handled my dog very well.
This dog wasn't mine originally. He wasn't socialized properly therefore he's aggresive towards strangers and other dogs... Meaning everyone besides his previous owner. He would growl, snap and try to charge at people. But Carlos was very calm, he could joke even. I find him very professional.

Will update from time to time on what's going on. smile.gif

well you know what.. opt for positive reinforcement. beating/locking in cages/scolding does not help.
you can check out www.petstudio.com.my, they have animal behaviour modification classes. call them and ask for rubini. say you were referred by jayne and see how they can help you.

Dog trainer is very expensive in Malaysia. I recommend you to get dog training book or e-book and train your own dog it is more fun and you will feel closer to your pet. Check this website http://www.dogtrainingmalaysia.com for review of dog training self study package.

For Penang try contacting Max: 016-4717038, For PJ/KL try Rubini :012-2207457. Both trainers are certified trainers and will even go from house to house if necessary.

There are two training schools that have their classes in Central Park, Bandar Utama, one is under MKA and another one I'm not sure. You could check it out on Saturday evenings and Sunday mornings.

Another place is Pets N You in Brickfields.

Prior sending your poodle to any training centre, do some researches online and find out if you're demonstrating correct leadership to your poodle.

It's useless to scold, beat (that's so not right!) or punish if you do not correct your dog at the moment action is taking place! As they have no idea and unable to link the punishment to earlier action. Let your dog knows all the things are your belongings, he should not try to own any of the stuffs including peeing on them!

Correct your dog immediately when he grrrr at you, let him know this is not acceptable. Be firm and confident when you're correcting your dog. Don't talk in a sweet voice like you're talking to a baby - I know poodles are cute.

Anyways, do take considerations whether your poodle only pees when he is unable to hold any longer - whether you have a fix schedule to bring your dog out for poo2 and pee2, whether your poodle drinks alot that day etc.

I owned a Siberian Husky, kept indoor with 24 hour air-condition. I bring her for a walk every alternate day.

She's 9 Months old now, until last month she was all fine, calm and lovely. But since last month, she started to growl and tend to started a fight with other dogs when i bring her for a walk.

Any idea and suggestion?

There are many centers throughout the U.S but dog training at Los Angeles is very popular since the center has got many advanced facilities that produce the best results even though the cost is little high compared to other centers.

Can I know what kind of qualifications does this trainer has aquired eg. competitions he has competed or dogs he has trained that have been title?
I have tried asking this questions in his FB but it has been erased. Why? anything fishy here. You just don't say you are good without a proven
CV in the dog world.

DO NOT GO TO G-PET. THE TRAINERS THERE ARE IRRESPONSIBLE! I SENT MY DOG THERE FEW MONTHS AGO, AND THERE IS NO RESULTS AT ALL. HERE IS THE STORY, AFTER ONE WEEK I LEFT MY DOG THR FOR TRAINING, WE WERE ASKED TO GO THR AS THEY NEEDED TO TEACH THE OWNER HOW TO TRAIN THE DOG SO THAT I CAN TRAIN MY DOG AT HOME. I WAS EXCITED AND READY TO LEARN. BUT AFTER I WENT THR, ALL I GT WERE DISAPPOINTMENT . DURING THE TRAINING SESSION, THE TRAINER DIDN'T FOCUS AT ALL! HE WENT OUT FEW TIMES DURING THE TRAINING SESSION AND KEPT ON PICKED UP THE PHONE CALLS, NOT ONCE BUT FEW TIMES. BECAUSE OF THAT MY DOG COULDN'T EVEN FOCUS IN THE TRAINING SESSION AS MY DOG WAS DISTRACTED BY HIM! ! AND I WAS STANDING THR LIKE A FOOL, DUNNO WHAT TO DO AS HE DID NOT TEACH ME HOW TO TRAIN MY DOG!! AND THE MOST FRUSTRATED THING WAS MY DOG DIDN'T EVEN LISTEN TO HIS INSTRUCTIONS. AFTER WE FOUND OUT THE BOSS AKA THE TRAINER 'S IRRESPONSIBILITY, ME AND MY FAMILY DECIDED TO END THE TRAINING RIGHT AWAY, WE ASKED FOR REFUND BUT THE FREAKING BOSS DIDN'T WANT TO, HE SAID IT'S COULDN'T REFUND. HOWEVER, WE STILL DECIDED TO LEAVE THE TRAINING CENTRE, AS WE DO NOT TRUST THEM ANYMORE, AND WE DON'T THINK IT'S A GOOD IDEAL TO LEAVE OUR DOG THR AS WELL. SO MY ADVISE IS FIND OTHERS BETTER TRAINING CENTRE, NOT Gpet!!!!

Recently just meet Malaysia Dog Training and the team like Sam so called professional dog behaviourist. This is what i feel
the price you pay for definitely not worth the service they provide, I guess they need to train a little bit harder in order to train our dogs, Words speaking louder than action this is what I hate the most. Heard a lot of story regard this company.

This story about death of this dog during the training. NOT ACCEPTABLE AT ALL. GOD BLESS YOU

The k-9 training is not just for dogs, the training is for the owner how to give commands and learn how to make the dog obey the owner. It defeats the purpose of sending the dog to the training when the owner doesn't know how to do it afterward.

If one really wants to train their dog, try the one at the BU park on Sun morning.

A few years ago, we were desperately looking for a dog trainer for our German Shepherd. Because of some of the reviews here, we ended up not going to G-pet, and what a huge mistake. Like why the hell did i even trust a review like the one above? It sounds so fake, like just advertising for dave teoh while shitting on another trainer's name. All those promoting Dave teoh here created new accounts to sing his praises and then never were active on Lowyat ever again!

Last month we boarded our dog with G-pet and it went great. Carlos handled him well and our dog was happy to be there. If we had gone to him sooner, we could have had years of better life for my dog. I will update here once we have a slot for training.

Bottom line is, take reviews with a pinch of salt and don't simply listen to reviews that are not backed up, both positive and negative. Some people can be unscrupulous in the way they do business.

any good trainers recommendations regards to correct my dog behaviour….mainly barking issues + few other’s behaviour issues such as nipping on others fingers, climbing others body etc.

Prefer can be an onboard training…..Most of the trainer required for owner to ignore dog bad behaviour, ie barking to discourage them to do so in future. But the principle is difficult to implement in my house due to neighbours complaints.
