I'm surveying ring also haha. Went into T&C with some of my mates. nearly vomit blood and die. rm30-rm40k don't even buy you 1carat diamond there.

@dvinez ... standard is only one diamond ring for engagement purpose, this is the one you gonna propose to your girl with. at this stage where got guy wear ring? only after wedding time then buy 'matching' wedding bands.

"Decent spec" is subjective - what's decent to me might not be decent for you ... but T&C rings are expensive, for my definition of "decent" you'd need to put aside at least rm25k.

And also, why you need to buy branded proposal ring? The proposal ring is all about the diamond, and it's not worth the mark-up. Wedding bands buy branded makes more sense cos then at least you are paying for the design.


What about the Cut? Diamonds got 4C's, you only gave 3 of them. Anyway you can get an idea of how much diamonds "cost" here: http://www.bluenile.com/sg/diamond-search?track=head

Well, if you look a few posts up, that guy jackson041104 got a 0.4 Ct 3x Excellent E VS2 with 18k white gold band for rm2,250 ...

proposal ring is normally a small thin ring with a (relatively) big diamond. Typically speaking only the girl will get a ring, the guy won't wear ring at this stage.



Wedding rings are one set, these are the ones where you will exchange rings during the wedding ceremony.

I'd wager a guess it's rm20k or more.

Size-wise it looks like at least a 1ct. T&C doesn't sell the lower grade diamonds, theirs are all pretty impressive CCC-wise. Non-premium branded rings are already rm10k+ for 0.5ct, what more a 1ct T&C

Anyway I was digging around my photos archive and I found a photo of the diamond that I bought for my fiancee a year ago (photograped and emailed to me by the seller lol).
