I want to ask

Some contractor said that there is glue that can allow a tile to be put on top of existing tiles. They say the technology good enough that i won't come out after some years for single storey house

but some contractors say it will come off after some years

any idea?

Ask him clearly izzit ceramic tiles or izzit vinyl tiles? If its ceramic tiles on top of ceramic tiles u can ask him to go home. He's cheating u. If its vinyl tiles, pls google up for recommended vinyl tiles installers and sellers. It's all about workmanship.

it is okay IF and only IF they apply waterproof solution for foundation for first layer... but I bet many didnt do....

else, if you really want to apply tile on tile, do apply PE sheet first then mix PYE waterproof solution with cement...

tiles on tiles will decrease ur effective built up area, as 1 wall will take 25mm, so u'll loose minimum of 50mm for the effective built up area. my personal advice is to go hact the tiles together with the screeding, than add new screeding + water proofing, be sure to use the liquid additive solution mixed with ur new screeding. then add new tiles.. will take longer time + moar costs, but in the end, it will be a work so worth it, u'll be super satisfied with the investment u've made.

tiles on tiles is so a lazy solution, it's only cosmetic, wont solve any problem..

tiles over tiles after several years the floor will sink, and can see small crack on the wall just beside the tiles.

Yeah, not advisable. For glue or any other adhesive to bond or have good contact. The surface must have enough "friction" for it to grip. like sanded or scratched surfaces.

Also you could go for cement board...only seen them being used in singapore. i was looking for them in malaysia but hard to come by and not many contractors knows how to properly install them.
