Quick question about the HDMI to DVI converter, Does it work the other way around?
I know some PS3 users uses this to connect PS3 to PC monitor, thing is I planning on using it to connect my PC to HDTV through HDMI, problem is the graphic card only has DVI output. I know I can use VGA, but I don't want that.

HDMI - DVI is mainly to connect PS3 to PC monitor and not for HDTV.

You have use HDMI cable if you want to connect your PS3 to HDTV..

Or, you could go to this thread..

or the PS3 TV discussion - http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1360005

Hope this helps..smile.gif

I think it can be done, since your just converting one end of the cable anyways.
You wont have any sound output though since your source is DVI.. smile.gif

yea sorry. i haven't consider what type of vga card TS might used.
new ati card namely 4850, etc able to transfer sound over hdmi although the card output is dvi. if we use dvi to hdmi converter + hdmi cable, then we able to output the sound.

ati used the special dvi to hdmi adapter, hence use hdmi cable

if use dvi to hdmi cables, no audio

yea, i forgot to add that detail notworthy.gif
consider if TS use ati card with capable to output sound over hdmi (using bundled dvi to hdmi converter), thats the best solution.
