The battery on my Nokia E71 swells up to the point where it created a noticeable bulge on the battery itself. Now the phone cannot be charged up properly.

Couple of questions:

Has anyone went through this problem?
and
What's the price for the original battery (BP-4L)?

Thanks.

ur battery already kembang
so its lifespan is already shorten
if it continue to kembang more
then it might have a big possibility ur back cover is gonna get "out of shape" due to the battery kembang
u better replace it asap before it explodes

I see. I'm not going to use it in any way then. Not when it has a real chance of exploding. I did notice that it gets harder to close down the cover over time but I didn't notice that the battery was the root of the problem.

last time i check .. price increase to rm130 now.. if u can hanger nicely maybe rm100
time to change.. swell battery mean it is faulty liao.. ap set is it?

Nope, original set bought within the first three months of the launch of the phone. I'm using a non-original charger though, just that generic one. Cannot find the original charger ^^;;

RM 130... that is expensive. I'll just use my other phone for now.

charging with generic charger maybe is the cause lor.. as the voltage is different

Now this is a new one for me. I assumed that all chargers are created equal and since they all have the same socket, they must be good for use with all models. The previous owner of the phone is my dad and he lost the original charger so... I'm using a charger we have lying somewhere around the house by the time he handed the phone down to me. Specs of the generic charger:

Input: AC 240V, 50-60Hz, 100mA
Output DC 5-11V, 500mA (overvoltage and undercurrent, damn)

I'll have a look at buying the original charger as well then.

if original set the accessories like battery, charger those all come with half year warranty. Maybe you can try bring to Nokia care centre to claim warranty.

It's way past the half-year mark, I'm sure that the phone is coming to its two year anniversary. Will consider returning to the original shop/Nokia Care and see what they can do about it.
