depends your needs.

user posted image

Like the other forumer said N900 its for multmedia but not entertainment. I never had any problem browsing any website with it currently replying from nokia n900.

Multimedia and internet - n900
Gaming - Iphone or touch
Music - X6

pros
1)The gps locktime for n900 is 3mins and below without a-gps under a v-cool tinted when all my other phones dont work at all.
2) can place nearly any format you put inside your phone without conversion except 1080p
3) Fcam appl on n900 makes your phone become like DSLR with aperture setting, iso up to 32000 etc
4) Can do online banking without problem tested maybank,CIMB,Public bank
5) Do my online trading of share thru n900
6) 32GB memory internal + external up to 16GB
7) UI its fully customizable like a desktop to suit your needs
8) Email app is amazing do not have problem till today link to my gmail, hotmail, yahoo, and etc
9) Currently not my nokia community support n900 can run dual boot android and maemo not fully 100% functional yet at 70% now
10) Amazing qwerty keyboard
11) IM are all integrated into conversation without 3rd party software . If IM not in list just need search for plugin
12) Software will auto update or shows update.
13) Capable overclock your phone for better performance
14) 4 desktop aka homescreen with hack can reach up to 10
15) Capable to stream music, movies and even photo thru network WIFI with windows7
16) Root support

cons
Lack of good GPS software when hardware is great
Lack of apps/games compare to other brands when support android u have everything of two worlds
Battery life but better than iphone
alittle bulky but what u expect from a tablet with phone capability.
*
agree..
the audio is also nice but the camera is just real decent..average for a 5mp shooter..
if wan entertainment..x6 is more like to ur choice & its cheaper[nokia X6 16GB-rm1k ori]

X6 8GB-RM890 X6 16GB-RM1k++ both ori @ CG
its a music phone [its a family member of Nokia's music phone series-XpressMusic the X & 5000]

u buy ipod & x6 = putting salt on the wounds[ur pocket!]
trust ur X6 !!
if u just listen to music & make calls, sms...dun use the gps much...
Up to 35 h Music playtime...up to 420h[2g]/450h[3g] standby time..

Budget: 1k - 1.5k
Brand: Nokia/Samsung/SE
Spec: Call and SMS alot. No need good camera or gps or fancy stuff
Type/Size: Small for woman use, cannot bulky

The thing is like this. My mom's old nokia 5800 condem. So she want a new phone. She dont use it to online/game/programs. Mostly just for calling and sms. This is also a status phone for her. So the price must be above 1k.
Otherwise for her requirement i also know rm300-400 can get a phone for her already.
So hope sifu here can recommend a few choices for ladies phone budget around 1k thats easy to use. Prefer no touch screen as user is above 50 year old.
*
wow wad a fashioned mother xD
easy to use, make call & sms only, non touch screen & over 1k .. ._.| speechless...
mayb get Nokia N86, N85 @@
w995 is abit lower than 1k[900+]
easy to use anot? i dunno lols...
i bet QWERTY stuff is a NO for ur mother xD

Is CSL brand any good? I mean is it recommended? I have a tight budget here of RM500.Looking for a touch screen, wifi and decent camera phone.

idk, CSL is Malaysia brand 0.o
Samsung S3653W (CORBY WIFI) @ RM 570
Samsung S5233W (STAR WIFI) @ RM 590
the cheapest touch+wifi available..but their camera not good =X
u might need to increase budget to get decent~
Samsung S5560 (MARVEL) @ RM 660
nice 5mp cam with autofocus+LED flash, Smile and blink detection, image stabilization~! with 3.5mm audiojack
LG GT505 @ RM 680
another nice 5mp cam with autofocus+LED flash & geo tagging, no 3.5mm audio jack but has 3G HSDPA @ & GPS[WisePilot with voice guided..but you need to pay =|]

heh thanks for da reply.

i always do my research on phones, reading the reviews on GSMArena. 5800 and X6 are both awesome phones, but their camera image quality aren't very good.... according the the reviews...

owh, what about samsung pixon12? i love the design, and the camera's pretty good too, though they have a bad video recording...
*
u r right..5800's camera quality is mediocre...however the video recording is decent 0.o|
u also wrong...x6 image quality is different from the sibling 5800..its video quality is ok & image quality is decent! but x6 cost more than 5800 of coz XD.. x6 is a 5mp shooter~

pixon12 is not a smartphone though..

wads ur budget range?

seems SE Vivaz cant get into ur mind anymore >.>, yeah the speaker is abit soft =X

SE Satio is a big no, its pricey & useless, buggy & slow software, hangs very often... though it got nice cam & GPS

Samsung Wave S8500 @ around RM1.5k meets the requirements of yours,
good audio, video[HD & the video player has subtitles, support XviD/DivX as well] & camera quality[dont let the 5mp confuse u, it just size difference, its still a nice camera & video recorder!but dun hav LENS cover too =|]
Unlike the Sony Ericsson Vivaz, the S8500 Wave doesn’t feature continuous autofocus during video recording.
nice screen[Super AMOLED], very smooth as it runs on 1GHz proc
Limited number of available applications due to its new OS [Samsung Bada OS]

both r symbians...

5530 is the nerfed version of 5800-lacks of 3G & GPS , & a different look...

I need some opinion on HTC wildfire and nokia X6.Coz i am still confusing on which 1 to buy...
any recommendation?
*
depends on your need,
both operating different OS..
Wildfire-Android 2.1 [Eclair] X6-Symbian 9.4 series 60
both in 3.2" 16million TFT capacitive touchscreen, 3.5mm audio jack, 32GB memories[depends on ur X6 version, X6 in internal memory however wildfire supports 32GB microSD]
both doesnt have XviD/DivX video support...

Wildfire pros-Multi-touch input, supports 32GB microSD
Wildfire cons-no TV-out port, Poor screen image quality [QVGA resolution capacitive touch], no videocall[no front videocall cam, main cam dun hav videocall function either], CIF@15fps video recording (352 x 288 pixels) is below par,

X6 pros-LCD 16:9 capacitive touchscreen (360 x 640 pixels), videocall[front videocall cam], Free GPS[no voice guided]
X6 cons-No microSD card slot (as a connectivity solution), No voice-guided navigation license,No office document viewer preinstalled

give us ur needs & ur budget range...we might give u some better choices~

hmm..in the end still..
as you asked: Nokia X6[8GB/16GB version]/HTC Wildfire...
but additionally, theres another new competitor: SE XPERIA X10 mini & LG KM900 Arena[a non-smart] 0.o
but Nokia X6 has free navigation!!
so i think this is clear enough... rclxms.gif [X6 runs Symbian 9.4 series 60]
X6 Camera quality quality is nice & video record quality is decent too~ rclxm9.gif brows.gif
X10 mini & Wildfire are Androids
X10 mini is a Donut[1.6, heard that might get 2.1 upgrade, the screen is way too mini(2.55")] & Wildfire is a Eclair[2.1, the screen resolution is bad though(QVGA)]
KM900 Arena is dumb phone, i mean non-smart XD .. no offense >.>[its a entertainment powerhouse with its great capacity(8gb internal+32gb microSD support), nice audio, cam & video quality]

She got her own dslr toy to play so wont be using the phone camera. As for music, car radio then she will listen.
As long as basic functions can be done without using slider is good. As in can answer call, make calls to previous called list without sliding phone.
When sms then slide is ok. I think now new phones mostly is like this right?
icic. thanks for advice. can take this phone off wishlist
*
well..this BL20 off ur list too..the answer/call & end button @ the slide keypad lols...

how bout SE Yari..typical special for ladies...[the outlook <3]
but its priced @ 700+ ><

else just take that QWERTY that she was looking at- Nokia E72

note that it doesnt have memory card slot[microSD] & 1k budget only can get 8GB/16GB version..
-No office document viewer preinstalled & dun have XviD/DivX video support[this 2 issues can be fixed by installing 3rd party apps which need some $$]

ermm..contact list u can choose to save @ sim card...due to it dun have memory card slot..
always make a backup file @ ur computer...

XviD/DivX video - Of course, you can use the Nokia PC suite built-in application that automatically converts all kinds of video files to the format and resolution your phone supports. The automatic converter though seems to compress the videos too much even at the highest quality setting and they look over pixilated' but so far it's the easiest way of getting compatible video to your handset.

Document viewer-Unfortunately, the Quickoffice application wasn't preinstalled on our Nokia X6. It's available from Ovi Store but it costs 25 euro and the PDF reader is sold separately for 10 euro. Today a document viewed is about as basic as email, so even if document editors are paid, the viewer should be free and preinstalled. Many feature phones have one, so why not this high end device?

Hi everyone..I need some recommendations for a new phone.

1. Brand - Any
2. Budget - Less then RM1K
3. Specs - GPS and WiFI is a must, also a clear camera.
4. Type/Size - Any with huge screen.

In short, I would be using the phone mainly for the GPS and WiFI. A nice camera is also required for some mild photo taking. What I have in mind now is a Garmin.Asus Nuvifone M10.

p/s: hopefully can get a phone wih GPS..so that I won't have to pay so much on A-GPS.

Thank you~  notworthy.gif

means u wan free gps?
x6 8gb/16gb...free gps
else 5800..800+ ori set [but mediocre camera]

x6 camera is ok
