3. Specs: Speaker, Camera, Flash, lasting battery life (no need wifi, 3g, gps, etc..)
4. Type/Size: (1) Candybar, (2) Clam shell

For normal use only ie. calls and sms (must hv bluetooth). Occasionally some pictures, but nothing serious, 2MP or 3.2MP is good enough.

i am looking at SE X10, Nexus one and Desire.. can someone tell me wat is the pro and cons for this 3? cos from what i look at the processor, they are the same, and only OS version is different.... and of cos X10 has larger screen.. apart from that any more different...? these 3 gadget realy make me hard time to choose..

i am thinking to get vivaz too due to the HD video recording and camera quality is not bad.. X10 is a bigger due to the larger screen, but benefit is for surfing or watch movie on it.. so really depend on ur usage..if u not plan use it to online often and mostly use for calling, sms or some other phone feature, i will get vivaz... but if i got unlimitted data plans, i will choose x10 so that can add in a lot of extra feature due to the android os.. this is just my personal opinion!

Personal suggestion would be the N97 because it's easy to use.Typing wouldn't be a hassle when dealing with sms/internet typing due to physical keyboard.What other recommendations?

Don't think other OS like Maemo(N900),Winmo,Android,Bada would be suitable though....something simple yet intuitive like Symbian S60

true..let him tried all..iphone is more to youth who like to show off and entertainment !  if he can like symbian, i dun see any problem with other os too..winmo is a bit dull or nth fancy ...so not need much customize is true..wat is there is there.. but take sometime to loading or should call it a bit slow? . maybe newer phone with improve spec now can load faster..

my mum's phone is pretty dead and dad wants to buy her a new 1, he ask me to choose 1 for her

brand: any brand with decent quality, personally prefer nokia
budget: from rm200 to rm2000, dad doesn't really mind(either a really nice but expensive phone or super cheap phone)
spec: big keypad(big touchscreen works too), big font, shes not too good with hi-tech stuff so prefer something less confusing. especially the GREEN and RED button must be good size. long talk/standby time and really loud speaker
type/size: standard size, slide/flip might be better since the font usually bigger, she's quite fashionable so look is more important than function, prefer pink color.

i'm thinking maybe 1 of the LG pink color phone? but i'm not familar with LG at all, i always been using nokia

But after trying out some HTCs phone, she found herself more keen in HTC android phone.
