according to building act, any structure that is erected on your carpark compound as long as they are not in the original floor plan, you are require to apply for permit, otherwise be prepare to be tear down once serve with summon within 3 days from the date of issue. You need to tear them down yourself or the local majlis will help to tear it down with bulldozer, it won't look nice, and they will charge the bill to you. Or if you are really bad luck,your neighbour complaint about your awning to local majlis, then you need to take down also or else majlis will help u take them down, very troublesome.

There are many cases in Malaysia whereby there are alot of illegal things that you can see around your neighbourhood and yet the authority is not taking any actions. But bear in mind that, who knows one day some crazy Minister/Department says "THIS YEAR, We are going to sweep all the houses with illegal extension."

Sames goes to illegal immigrants. Seeing them coming in to Malaysia without quota for the past few years, then with all the sudden, Immigrants Department set a quota and start to take sweeping action to sweep all those plantation & construction sectors.

dude its already happening in Puchong, Wangsa Maju and USJ area, local majlis helping house owner takes down illegal structure in split second by using bulldozer, some never get into the newspaper.

u don pay then its call illegal structure, if u pay and approve thats spell permit.

sure u can opt not to pay and apply, just don't get caught!
