my 1ft tank just using small hob filter with dunno what bio ring...very healthy from 30++ became 200++ and counting... now i saw green shrimps carry eggs already...

hey ur house dun have tank water? try to use water from tank instead of outside pipe... my tank using roof tank water not main pipe water...

its not cyle the soil, its cycling the system.... what u need to do is to do the set-up, hook up the light & filter, plant something and leave it running at least for 3 weeks depends on ur filter system.... in between every week do water change of bout 30%...

turn on the light for bout 4hrs in beginning and slowl increase to 6 than 8 hrs a day... filter should run 24-7...

do not introduce any shrimps nor fishes at this moment...

after bout 3 weeks u can try to test the water condition buy putting some test cheap fish to see if the water condition already stable...

the aqua soil can last for 2 years... no need to change soil... if want to rescape, take out all water and rescape / add soil if required...

btw WE is for PS3

not yet bro... still wanna multiply them... 1st batch already become shrimplet few weeks ago now bout 7-8mm size saw bout 30+ of them... got 2-3 more carry eggs... all this inside my 1ft tank so easy to see...

i also saw bout 5-6 rcs also carry eggs in my 1.5ft tank but inside here i think have bout few hundreds but not easy to see coz in full planted... didnt manage to see any shrimplets coz must be hiding somewhere...

will open for sale in future & thinking of rm1 each since most lfs selling rm1.50 each now

u can put hundreds or even thousands inside 2ft tank hehe...

may not be so soon... may be another few months till full my tank hehe... im at puchong...

i think many hobbist will sell it cheap if its too many inside tank already just wanna reduce population hehe...

what u can try is to take out 70% of the current water, go buy RO water selling using vending machine and put it in and see how it goes... i guess RO water is not expensive as mineral water rite...
