I also have that, its very good in what it does. The only problem I had when there were lots of them were brown algae which my oto suppose to take care of.
But after I trim it recently, maybe I trimmed it too much. I started having these hair like algae growing. I don't know what kind of algae it is. But its everywhere, including my water sprites. So now I minta all the sifu-sifu sekalian to help me take a look at what it is and what I'm suppose to do to get rid of it... Sorry about the blurr pictures, I took it with my phone... My tank is very low tech tank, and very low budget also. No CO2 injection, no soil just gravel, temperature is around 30 (going to DIY fan coming holiday) but had this problem before I moved also when the tank temperature was at 28. Tank is 20 gallon, 12 harlequine, 2 sterbai cory just recently added 30 cherry shrimp which I hope would eat it, just came a week ago. So please... Anyone can help me??? Attached thumbnail(s) |

From what u said, ur tank have no CO2 and no soil. Maybe ur plant have a nutrient deficiency symptoms. From what i read,Water sprites have a poor root system and absorbs nutrients directly from the water column so Water Sprite requires regular dosing of high quality, liquid nutrients, as well as moderate lighting. But after I trim it recently, maybe I trimmed it too much. @chuppy2
LoL. Teasing shots. Can't wait to see the full tank! @elainor Yep! That's what I'm looking for. Thanks! @radver Looks like nutrient deficiency, causing the leaves to die off. Perhaps you can share with us your setup? Added on May 31, 2010, 1:28 amSaw this planted arowana tank. Really, really beautiful with the colour contrast. http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s62/bug...05Mar2003-1.jpg Any idea what's the tall carpet plants are? Added on May 31, 2010, 10:05 am QUOTE(fongzai92 @ May 30 2010, 11:42 PM) A type of fast growing aquatic plant. Absorbs nutrients rather quickly too.Added on May 31, 2010, 12:13 pmBah.
