QUOTE(mist8 @ Jun 22 2018, 05:31 PM) My new house is a gated and guarded area too, but I decided to install grill and alarm. wow.. that sounds dangerous. Did it happen before u installed the grill on your window? In terms of security, I find alarm is more important than CCTV because the guards will respond immediately when the alarm goes off. However, if there are elders or kids in the house, having a CCTV is essential to keep an eye on them when we are not around. I had the experience of 2 burglars jumping in from the window and had a knife against my husband's neck. So yeah, grill is a must for me. Hopes this helps. |

QUOTE(kumario9 @ Jan 7 2019, 01:58 PM) Hi all, 3kim quality is good so far. no complain. workmanship is also ok.After reading this forum seems Three Kim start quote high due to demand? But hows the workmanship and quality wise? Compare Three Kim vs CSA (http://www.csa.com.my/), both equally good in terms of price and workmanship factor? Anyone, please PM me. Need to get quote powder coated mild steel for whole house grill please. Still waiting CSA reply on grill quote Was checking this website ===> http://www.liangyee.com.my/ (kinda high price) Thank you. |

QUOTE(ceo684 @ May 8 2019, 12:03 PM) Yup the workmanship is important. Cheap grilles cut corners and have major flaws in core components e.g hinges, weld joinery quality, padlock ears, material thickness, even common parts - how well the (floor- and ceiling- position locking bars and the opposite matching hole for the grille lock) are made, determines the strength of a grille - whether its a strong one that requires ten minutes to saw through, or something that can be easily defeated in seconds with a hydraulic jack/hammer/crowbar. Yes agreed. Many seen 3kim workmanship had compliment it too.Of course all those are qualitative components which can't readily be measured with $ and cents. I am very pleased with my 3kim grille as compared to the cheap one my neighbours took. |

When installing grille that comes with multipoint locking, pay close attention to the catch that is installed on the frame side. In my experience with Arxtech, the worker didn't do a good job n I later notice some catch didn't hook into the locking paw which makes then useless. The catch is installed on site n worker just eyeball the whole thing. Because the tolerance is so small (catch n paw size is small margin) most of the point didn't hook properly. Quite disappointed on this.

QUOTE(JasonTheGreat @ Sep 27 2021, 08:37 AM) Thanks for sharing. I got quotation from Panther in July with 20% but of cos my house is delayed so I’m still surveying Reliance, Renex and Panther. With mesh so you feel airy? And is yet he house darker due to light not penetrating? dont expect airflow to be as if no mesh. the mesh cut down air flow quite significantly also. no grille or not depends alot on the security of that area. if it has a relatively peaceful neighbourhood with a good built in community or security, i dont see why not. alternatively u can use other soft method like cctv or alarm to deter break ins as well. a connected system to your mobile that alerts your phone would enable you to call the security to come to your house and check in case anything happens. QUOTE(imation1314 @ Sep 6 2022, 10:20 AM) Anyone know can i still install mosquito net (not magnetic mosquito net) on the existing grille ? I don't see why not. It's just net with double sided tape. A lot people also diy. Even the magnetic one can diy. Of course there is always the option to hire ppl to do it for u also. But putting a net will cut your airflow rate. Keep this in mind. It act like a barrier to slow down the wind speed.Or i need to replace the grille with the grille come with net ? Currently my house backyard only have a grille door it has very good air flow but not protected from mosquito/insects. |
