It kind of pissed me off when people play DOTA said they're playing RTS . FFS you only control 1 units, what kind of RTS is that ?

When it comes to real RTS, it's about base contruction/economy management/tech tree/produce units and control,etc... Don't put that lame DOTA as a RTS, it's more like Action-RPG for me.

ntg like rts at all where very easy just simply build and send ur unit die whereas dota ur hero is ur life u must take care of it so that u dont die.

well, in RTS. if you build and send your unit to die, you are losing the game.

i played dota on warcraft 2. that time who ever choose pugna pwns all.

his raise skeleton is 2 mana and when a skeleton die u can use that skeleton corpse to raise 2 more skeleton.

raise skeleton has no cooldown

i played old version of dota b4 (where there's only 2 lane where ur creeps spawn. midway or river, one of the lane split to 2)

its a mega damaged FORK LIGHTING that cant be used on hero

Warcraft is one of the best Real Time Strategy game, Dota is just created by some ppl using warcraft engine, Dota is not RTS at all, only for ppl who are LAZY to control the whole team....

You can't blame them though, not everyone has the ability to purge, net, drop ward, order attack, build army, pay attention to 1 main base 3 outpost and control 3 heroes at the same time.

Not many people knows about damage type and armor type too (units piercing damage is strong against units with heavy armor, siege damage is strong against buildings etc). The game is especially hard for new players.

Dota is NOT a pure RTS
BUT it is a sub-genre of RTS

dota is more complicated than typical RTS.

What i know is dota needed less brain power because the need of only control one hero. What what makes it complicated than typical RTS? more like an Action RPG to me. Something like diablo.

I anyway, didn't play Dota for almost a year now after i played HoN, it is nicer and better.

DotA is definitely not RTS. It's in a genre called MOBA, Multiplayer Online Battle Arena.

It makes more sense than RTS, Action RTS or RPG.
