i have glanced through stringfellow's previous posts and he has explicitly mentioned and i have taken the liberty to interpret it to my own accord; if you can afford to purchase such an upper scale/range of a computer, shouldn't you play a more proactive role to match it?

Added on April 12, 2010, 8:27 pmoff topic and i'm speaking this out of context: reminds me so much about the typical chinese businessmen/entrepreneurs, who will rush to purchase a brand new mercedes E class, but succumb themselves to maintain/perform services at those kedai mechanic ah hock under the yum yum tree and using ciplak parts.

and when something goes amiss with their cars, they will then point their fingers, towards the lower quality/inferiority of mercedes.

not to mention, those drivers with gorgeous cars, who just refuse to fork out a single cent for parking! same scenario, and if their cars do get stolen/scratched/vandalised, where do their fingers point to this round?

human idiosyncrasy at its best!

i have been pirate-free in terms of games, softwares and apps for quite some time already.

my case on games is, i will definitely research on a game very thoroughly before purchasing it (it could be from forums, youtube, demo et cetera).

hence as a result of that, i have very little games on my PC and PS3 (only three to be precise). not only that, because your games are so limited, you will tend to spend more time 'appreciating' it and as a result your gaming experience will be enhanced thoroughly.

that's point number one.

point number two; games in physical format i.e. in discs, can be resold again (both online or game shops). best of all, preowned games can be resold and resold until it reaches a plateau price (the only marked distinction is, when you are selling it from brand new). it doesn't take a genius to figure all this out. my recent purchase, God of War will be my best example, i bought it for AUD130 and upon completion, i sold it for AUD93! i mean, there is a lost of AUD37, but surely this is negligible? not happy with losses? extreme kiasuness? here is another scenario. recently, i purchased 2 preowned games from eBay from AUD100 (COD MW2 and uncharted 2) and believe me, if i try trading them in, i can still make a profit.

point number three; subscribe to forums and gaming companies (like steam). offers and bargains are perpetually out there for grabs.

we, as consumers, should take the first initiative by ourselves.

oh i forgot to mention that i'm currently a student as well and on a budget too.

got myself the used PS3 from eBay for a bargain! i still cannot afford a brand new one yet.

it doesn't. all it takes, are some initiatives to recoup your 'loses' (they are not even loses considering the fact, that you got hours of leisure and entertainment from them; they are intangible)

precisely. like i have advocated before, it doesn't take a genius to figure this out. however if you are merely creating excuses, you are just taking the easy way out.

you are a quite charitable bloke i must say.

pouring hours/weeks/months/years of work without expecting to reap on your hard work.

stringfellow is right. you can get them from IKEA. they will leave glue marks residues unfortunately. hence, I'm using them to make sure my MBP doesn't come in contact with another hard surface.



to cool down my MBP and for a better ventilation, I will personally recommend this one (see attached pictures). the 'balls' are a little too slippery for my liking.
