M15x A05 bios has been released for awhile, after flashing it, the same restarting problem happened again, I guess every time you flash your bios, you have to clean reinstall your graphic driver again to one that fix it, I am still fixing it now @*&!@#*&^@... zzz

One question with all M15x users, who here uses an external monitor to your M15x and what monitor model is it, and what graphic driver and bios version are you using? Does your M15x restarts instead of shut down when you perform shutdown? ( when your monitor is plugged in )

Is any M15x users encountering problem where the right side of your laptop especially the keyboard UP,DOWN,LEFT,RIGHT key part is like loose also your right upper corner the cover above the media buttons is like loose. ( Loose meaning when you press it , it can be pressed up and down )

I had all these problems since the first week I got my laptop, and I have had enough now, when I am back in Malaysia, I am going to demand Dell to replace like every freaking part of my laptop. sad.gif

Sorry for the hassle, I just had a feeling of tossing my M15x to dell since I am the only few who is encountering these problem

I have been fixing the restart problem ever since I got my M15x ( 5 months ), yes reinstalling nvidia drivers do work sometimes for god knows WTF reason,
but whenever you reinstall your bios or OCD driver, the shutdown problem will surface again, or better sometimes when you unplug ur VGA and take ur lappy out and put back again, the problem will come back.

I believe the OCD and Bios clashes with the Nvidia drivers,
whenever you reinstall your graphic driver ( reinstall meaning uninstall + driver sweeper + reg clean + restart twice + uninstall whatever is left over by nvidia, then install another nvidia driver )
the graphic driver could have trigger changes/overlap to some part of the shut down procedure thus fixing the problem temporary, but whenever other parts trigger the overlapping on the shutdown procedure, yes your comp is screwed once again. ( But of course, this is just my assumption as this is what I get from my 1000s of experiments )
Therefore, I believe its not just the graphic driver fault, I believe its a GTX 260m or MOBO fault in general,
I have been able to fix the problem temporary with different driver with the very frustrating and stupid reinstall driver method,
It does not guarantee to work, reinstall could work with a same driver u tried reinstalling before that didn't fix it, so you have to keep trying until you hit the bullseye
And I am currently stuck after updating my bios to A06.

Seeing that plugging off ur vga and power plug before shutting down solves the problem while also screw up your OCD the next startup if u use these method, I deeply believe our OCD and Mobo doesnt go well with GTX 260m. Period vmad.gif vmad.gif vmad.gif vmad.gif

#PS: Resetting your OCD by pressing down the power button for 10 seconds removing battery and power will make the problem surface as well.

And I really want to toss my M15x to Dell. Period -.-

Just in the process of changing. Got my heasink thermal paste remover today and will work on it tomorrow or day after cos I'm still benchmarking my 260M. But I should be working on the swap this week....
I bought the card from US for RM1250 - RM1300 depending on the exchange rate cos the dollar is going up now.... sweat.gif

To Julchin, is it possible for you test this issue with your 260M graphic card first and see if u get the same problem, and test it again after you install your 5870M, if swapping graphic card fix the problem, I am ordering my 5870M now.
