i checked the speed step thinggy.. its basically making ur computer to constantly stress the processor.
pros: constantly high performance, mayb 1.6mhz? cons: stress the processor, fan will be stressed constantly non stop, heat issues and battery mati fast. guess im not gonna disable it his document is intended only as a guide to resolve various issues with laptops and/or notebooks and Intel SpeedStep® Technology. Ultimately, your laptop/notebook system manufacturer or mobile motherboard manufacturer may have the very latest information to help resolve your issues. What is Enhanced Intel Speedstep® Technology (EIST)? Enhanced Intel SpeedStep® Technology is an advanced means of enabling very high performance while also meeting the power-conservation needs of mobile systems. Conventional Intel SpeedStep Technology switches both voltage and frequency in tandem between high and low levels in response to processor load. Enhanced Intel SpeedStep Technology builds upon that architecture using design strategies that include the following: * Separation between Voltage and Frequency Changes. By stepping voltage up and down in small increments separately from frequency changes, the processor is able to reduce periods of system unavailability (which occur during frequency change). Thus, the system is able to transition between voltage and frequency states more often, providing improved power/performance balance. * Clock Partitioning and Recovery. The bus clock continues running during state transition, even when the core clock and Phase-Locked Loop are stopped, which allows logic to remain active. The core clock is also able to restart far more quickly under Enhanced Intel SpeedStep Technology than under previous architectures. Because Enhanced Intel SpeedStep® Technology reduces the latency associated with changing the voltage/frequency pair (referred to as P-state), those transitions can be practically undertaken more often, which enables more-granular demand-based switching and the optimization of the power/performance balance based on demand. This article gives developers an overview of the support for Enhanced Intel SpeedStep Technology and demand-based switching under Linux. It is also a ready reference for developers interested in new user-level or in-kernel policy based on Enhanced Intel SpeedStep Technology. yea its true.
it didn help anywayz. my 3d mark still not reach 6k after disabling the speedup. the mark increased from 5995 (with step up) to 5999 (without step up). a slight increase in 5? forget bout it.. my 3d mark will nvr reach 6k. sighz btw, tactx user TS, the tactx mouse cover is rubber type or just solid plastic? rubber as in those on razer mouse... oh man.. not again.. same question has been asked more than 100 times edi i think.
if u wanna noe the performance, like i said. do some research and google it.. it will give u clearer answer when u do research. u ask bout performance, some application, can it support? what applications? so general how to answer rite? mayb some of ur applications are alien to us. so i suggest you to google it. just like what i did last time. otherwise, get one unit for uself and u can test out everything u wan. so far, all the applications i have can be supported. even pirated softwares, games, movies and viruses, malwares and etc. does that answer ur question? if not, then u noe why i didn answer ur question. cuz u just blah general things which u expect forumers to read your mind and understand what u wanna ask. if u wan m11x, go get it. if u don wan it, don ask question about it which has been answer 10000times by lyn, and other websites. tq |

OH ya.. one thing that m11x cannot do.
FULL SCAN with kaspersky internet security 2010 + doing other things. will lag and make u tulan. (like duh.. every laptop also cant scan virus and run programs the same time) mayb u still can tahan the lagginess when u open photos and stuffs. but not me. so when i scan i just leave it there to finish. so, is that a heave/heavy application to u? if yes, don get m11x. get asus 17 inch. or m17x @wilson, ur photoshop is ahem or ori one? and how much is ur 3d mark 06? hehe... hmm... i tell u la how much i spent on m11x..
m11x = RM4200 full specs with 3 years international warranty + 24 mccaffe but deleted it edi (din save the activation code, DARN!) + 190 external dvd player + 200 external hardisk 320gb + 300 15.6 inch monitor + 400 mouse + 79 KIS 2010 + 300 sennheiser headset + 59 goliathus + 25 logitech keyboard + 89 belkin bag + rm110 razer moray u calculate all, see how much. and see i should have add some extra cash to get m15x. at first i kinda regret of spending so much, cuz all the things i spent is to "magnify" the m11x. should have just gotten m15x instead. but yea, got use to it and loving it liaw. u have to appreciate it bro nearly reach 6k..
