Dell officer is here to replace the lcd. And remember the scratch I said happened to my m11x top cover? its gone now since its a part of the LCD. biggrin.gif

LOL. When the tech came over just now, opening my M11X, I shat brix. So takut wor... I build my own PC at home, but laptop are the thing I always scare to usik2.

He keeps saying "Dont worry bang, I dah kerja dengan Dell 10 tahun". Haha

My m11x suddently cannot start today. It flashed blue screen while trying to boot windows.

Attempted to repair using the recovery cd, but the screen seems to stuck at "Setup is starting...". How long was that supposed to be there anyway? I never tried recovery on 7 before, so is it common for it to be this long (15 minutes now)?

No. Nothing at all. Just replace the LCD.

Just called Dell support. They'll send someone on Monday. They say it might be HD problem.

I think M11X can run Warcraft 3 just fine. It can run Black & White 2 very smoothly on the highest settings. B&W 2 is quite a strategy game, and newer as opposed to Warcraft.

Dell engineer came today on the morning, as promised.

They replaced the HD and allow me to keep the old HD for a week to backup, if possible.

So far their support has been good to me. Its their product that keeps getting me down. sad.gif

Is there a way to get back all those Alienware wallpapers, logon screen etc?

I need it since Dell replaced my spoilt HD with a new one, and it doesnt have the old themes.

also, am now a little disappointed after reading about the build quality of AW laptops since i chanced upon this thread.

please enlighten me fellow AW boys!

Cant really comment about the late shipment. I heard they have shortage of parts recently. I bought my M11X at a retail store.

Their after sales service is very good. I've experienced it 2 times now, 1 for LCD which has some particles of dust (they CAME and REPLACE the whole LCD), and another with a faulty HD (they came and replace it, install windows and everything and give me a week to backup stuffs. After a week, THEY will come and collect the old HD).

Err... Their HQ is in Penang. They have their staffs placed all over the country la. So I think their after-sales-service can still reach you. sweat.gif

My login theme was already gone since I had a HD failure last time, Dell changed it to a new one, but those theme is not there sadly.

How do you solve it anyway? Do you download it off somewhere? If you do please tell me where!

Just called Dell. Apparently my bank rejected the payment AND IT TOOK DELL 2 f***ING WEEKS TO TELL ME! If I dint call they wont even bother I think!
