I know that's the stereotype but once you strip down the layers of superficial labeling of chi ed and eng ed then you'll see that even chi ed have their own personalities which have good quality and reasoning. Only thing is, you have to be patient because they're usually quiet and not used to speaking English and it may take a long time for them to open up to you and show you their real character.

QUOTE(Kampung2005 @ Apr 4 2010, 03:27 PM) In a relationship with a non-English speaking Russian girl but you can tell she's really smart but you gotta learn Russian to speak to her @Marion- I'm ok besides the fact that I'm walking around in crutches due to a sprained ankle. MRI tomorrow, fingers crossed that it isn't serious. How are you then? |

QUOTE(eyhc89 @ Apr 4 2010, 03:31 PM) Oh ok, you'll love it in the end. I'm missing that beautiful country everytime I meet or talk to someone who is from there or is living there. Enjoy it. QUOTE(chiahau @ Apr 4 2010, 03:32 PM) Not bad, you know your grappling. No, I would never not tap out in time due to ego. I rolled on it sparring. Just one of those freak accidents. You into grappling or jiu jitsu? Wanna join |

QUOTE(chiahau @ Apr 4 2010, 03:41 PM) Wanna try some jiu jitsu? You gotta have submission training right? Or have you already got that? @Marion- Chicken rice balls and cendol!!!! About marrying in Aussie- It's my inclination to advice ppl abroad not to come back here due to the fact that it's what I would do if I had a choice. I've lived more years abroad than in Malaysia and am more suited that way. Have to stay here for work and business. So, stay abroad if you can |

QUOTE(chiahau @ Apr 4 2010, 03:46 PM) Basic MMA only.. Dude that's already very good. You just need to know 40 basic holds and practice them to muscle memory to be able to use submissions effectively. With your Karate background you can do a Lyoto Machida eh? Can ground and pound but not their fancy moves yet.. Can do basic arm bar, ankle lock..Triangle submission.. Headlock.. I got karate's training though XD |

@Marion- No, I spent most of my childhood in US. I spent time in Aussie when I was living in Malaysia and was on those end of year school holidays. I went to live with my cousin in Melbourne.
@chiahau- We roll safely and egos are checked at the door but you must still anticipate the common busted lip and bloodied nose. This happens to everyone on a weekly basis. No broken bones often but I have broken more bones than I can count |

You need a Gi for sure though.
Added on April 4, 2010, 4:12 pm QUOTE(chiahau @ Apr 4 2010, 04:10 PM) Ball guard? In competition yes you would wear a cup. Gloves are not necessary because there is no striking involved. Even MMA gloves in competition in open gloves which exposes nails due to the need to grapple so that's a small risk. Nails must be short though. No gloves? Nails can scratch eyes accidentally.. Mouth piece now can say become compulsory in most contact sports dy~ This post has been edited by JeromeDubois: Apr 4 2010, 04:12 PM |
