Summary of 3Q '11 financial report

~ Fan product revenue up by 26%
Due to additional sales derived from the transfer of manufacture & sales of certain fan models from China to Malaysia.

~ Home Appliance Products revenue down slightly by 3%
Mainly as there was lower export sales to the Middle East region as a result of the political instability in that region.

~ Combined profit before tax for the 9 months ended 31 Dec 2011 was lower, mainly attributed to a derivative loss.

~ Overall, Company will remain profitable for the current financial year.

===

OK forecast time. tongue.gif

Since we have a clue now, the Company's 9 months total EPS stand at 97 sens.

I'll be contented if Panamy Q4 EPS can reach RM1.25 to RM1.30 per share (last year was making RM1.36/share)  thumbup.gif

===

Question:

Based on latest financial report,

Cash on hand: RM RM449,195,000

Issued share: 60,745,780

Does it mean Panamy has a nett cash of RM7.39/share?  drool.gif
*
When i first bought in 2009, their cash per share was around $8.50.

Looks like they have paid out of the pile............... biggrin.gif

I have just learned a valuation method, based on earning, from this book...

OK, I'm now ready to do a valuation for PANAMY using this method smile.gif

Do note that, unlike Pat Dorsey's Discounted Cash Flow Analysis, this method does not take into account perpetuity value (earning beyond the first 10 years). Therefore, it may undervalue a stock. Still, at current price RM22, I am not buying yet yawn.gif

I've no idea how this method works. So the final intrinsic value contains its "deserved PE ratio based on its EPS performance"? Is this how it works? notworthy.gif

The final intrinsic value is the 'deserved' stock price.
You will observe that 14.37 is much lower than the last done price, 21.50. But as I said, this calculation does not take into account the earning beyond the 10th year.

10 years is already very long time. Long enough for valuation I guess.
If you use this method to calculate Nestle, I bet current price also way too expensive? biggrin.gif

Nowadays, people buy because of yield, not about how much the intrinsic value is.

As long as a stock price that consistently yield more than FD rate 1.5x to 2x, there are people after the stock already.

Company has abundant of cash.
So if make profit, make Rm1, give Rm0.80, as dividend, what's wrong with that?

You would rather the company keep the cash forever, while minority shareholders get peanut dividend?

Inside the latest quarter report, the Company say will announce a dividend later.

I see foreign funds & EPF buying more Panamy share early this month. nod.gif

This news article says:

The group attributed the fall in profit to lower export sales to the Middle East region as a result of the political instability in the region.

http://www.theedgemalaysia.com/business-ne...to-rm747m-.html

So it does sell its products outside Malaysia.

Panasonic product is consider pricing at above average in the market I think. But it's a good brand in Malaysia, many loyal users in their air-cond among some other products. Noted for good quality product in affordable price. I'm a big fan of Panasonic products for many years....at least more than 20 years. However, not TV though. Their TV's color is not good at all, still prefer Sony for color and Samsung for high-tech on TV. And Sony, Panasonic Japan HQ huge loss is caused by TV products as well, that overtake by Samsung. Korea wins over Sony in big ways on it. biggrin.gif

Actually they could pay out 100% and still have lots of cash.
Have not checked their cash status lately but i think its around Rm7.50 per share!
Lotsa cash...thats one of the reasons i invested in Panamy...plus the generous divs paid out.
