Story mode is a must have, time mode are cheesy lame.

Remove all new characters since 2002, revive everyone from 98-02.

Basic system like 02. I might consider touching this game again

Ash is still a mystery. But he has stole Chizuru's power and Iori's flame. My only beef is SNK didnt bother to implement these powers into Ash's movesets. What's the point of stealing then???

Based on KOFXII, I do like the new art style and character design except for Clark, Ralf who look too muscular (Goro look ok to me).

Here is what i hope to see in KOFXIII:
- storyline pls pls pls
- more moves
- return of KDash and his team (he is part of the storyline so kinda weird that he is not in.
- better fire effect. KOFXII's fire effect (explosions, burns) look like shit, fake. But from the picture, look like i will be disappointed with this again )
- improved online (but based on my past SNK experience, they will mess it up)

Interested to see what the HD Cancel is about

Looking forward to this game Based on the team roster seen, we can estimate:
- Takuma might be back in the Team Kyokugen
- Vice will be back for 98' Iori Team (i wonder how are they going to tell this story )
- One new member for Team Kim (Raiden is already in), I am assuming someone totally new.
- Whole new team (hopefully K'Dash team). BUT looking at the rosters, there are no definite Evil team (Iori team might be so...). So, might be whole new team of Evil members.
- A boss pls!!!!!!

None. You can count them from the roster pic. SNK also said they will keep the existing cast and add new one as they go as it takes time to draw the animations one by one. So, expect SNK to recycle these characters for years to come

Recycling, no prob. But as long as u add new moves, then I'm sold.

I mmg tara kisah punya. But I want new moves and combos that I can play around with. Like Iori's versatility in KOF 2k1. And i was still happy with him after his stint in 2k2 and 11. (Forgetting 2k3, although Max move was nice. haha.)

But my staple CHoi is not in anymore But Raiden become my new main in KOFXII Leona is also nice since you can play mind game with her Grand Saber, running forward and running backwards until you want to slash at opponents

Gud point. I would agree so because of the rumors last year regarding the next 2 fighters to be unveiled in the console version of KOF XII. Mai is now back, of course after major uproar.

I was looking at the character selection screen
Since '94 Women's team is back (King, Yuri and Mai), Kyokugen's last member has to be Takuma (bring him out of retirement)

Missing team might be Team K' (K' Dash, Kula/Whip and Maxima). As for Kim's team, the missing person might be Chin Gentsai but for Iori's Team, the missing person is a tough 1 to crack, it might be Shingo/Chizuru making a comeback O_O"
Heck it can be Vice since they brought back Mature (arent' those 2 supposed to be killed by Iori?)

And the one that will host the tournament is named "R"....don't tell me Rugal again ~_~

Shingo, fat chance. He hates Iori's guts left right and center. Vice, could be, but it'd be interesting to see a new character. Or maybe, Oswald? Reason why I think so is because Oswald was betrayed in some sorts by Ash. Both of them have a common enemy.

R, i thought in XI it was also R? But that turn out to be someone else.

Since this will end Ash's story arc, maybe the demise of Ash Crimson

I hate charge characters. I sucked using them

The only charged characters that i can think of in KOF universe is:
- Heidern
- Kyokugen old moves (their flying kick), Takuma etc
- Leona
- Ash
- Andy's one move
- Joe's one move
- Geese's one move (changed in KOF, but changed back )

errr....can't think of who else

Charge fighters are rare in KOF. But not the same with SF. So it was fun to see Ash being one of those pure charge users (besides Leona and Heidern) for a change.

The takeover began because they were going bankrupt already. Though 2002 boasted a lot of characters, balance issues were a problem.

Try looking at Hong Kong websites. You may get lucky.

But still hate them cuz reduce the character.I play 2003 and it was so so only.Then out kof kof 11 i was like wtf?

For me, character count won't matter. its how everyone clicks that I like. I'd hate overpowered characters (case in point Gato in KOF XI) compared to characters who are fun to play with (Iori's Sunflower Punches is a good example of guessing games).

all the best KOF in my mind is
1) KOF 98 & KOF 98um (no doubt about it, best KOF ever. many character to choose.)
2) KOF XI (BEST! the switch system rocks!)
3) KOF 02/um (dunno y....the gameplay is slower than 98 n XI? or was my problem?)

i really hope that malaysia will get KOF XIII arcade.

Adelheid Bernstein's sister. That explains the R perhaps on the envelope.

Orochi still takes part in all this, as Mukai and the minions are all part of Orochi also.

Notice the snake eye before some 2 pillar thing. A snapshot of Kyo is also seen in the R. So, the Bernstein legacy isn't that far yet. hehe.

Things are starting to get really interesting.

Also, I know HD cancel is know Hyper Drive cancel.

In 96, Iori killed Vice and mature with his own bare hands (Afteer going through Riot of the Blood of course). But you must also understand that Iori is not one of the 8 heads of the Orochi. I remember because his blood was tainted.

I think I need to list down the 8 heads of the Orochi once more.

yeah, it should be new boss. Hopefully, its not the rest of the remaining members from Mukai's Orochi team.

Good that we managed to finally get an ending, and the end to Ash Crimson's saga. However, I do feel its a little cheap. here's what I read and my view.



K's Neo Max is FANTASTIC.

BUt i have gripes that the game, IS STILL BUGGY. I think you guys should head to Kotaku to find out the problems of Hwa Jai, Ralf, and the worst, Vice. Sigh...

I read about those too. Hope they can patch it for the console version

I must say, the feeling is amazing, If this game coming out on PS3, I will buy a.s.a.p. Gameplay is good, the combos are amazing if you know how to do it, and more characters!!!

Based on the combos i kena from one guy, yes, fast and speedy again. Definitely faster than KOFXI. ANd the combos are more fun now. Takuma is awesome lol

And they really learn the combos there. All using crazy combos and stuffs. Really know the game inside out. Hyper cancel, Max Cancel la.

Hitting up Bugis Junction with 3 cabinets for my exploration of the whole game, and I must say, this what KOF XII should have been.

Initially used K', Kyo, and Iori. Clearly K' has upper hand. Hopping with D is a beast. Iori is versatile once more, but not as tight as he was in 98. This was comparable to 97 where he is much faster and agile. Kyo is good in the sense that u get to trap people with combos u don't want to see.

Fighting Saiki and Dark Ash is sort of good. Cheap, but good. Took a while to figure out what was Saiki's weakness. Dark Ash was a problem. Still couldn't figure out since his fireball moves come out a plenty.

Should've played with the ending of Kyo and Iori.

So finally you get to play..

Easy way to defeat both boss is to use Goro or Maxima.

For Goro do: f,d,df+A. Do it until you win.

For Maxima do: f,d,b+D, then add d,b+C. Do it until you win.

as a KOF fan, i shall buy this game!!! love KOF so much! but i really hope they end Ash's story.....because i don't like him at all! I hope they can make Yashiro and his team back again

Vice and Mature are basically souls in this game, came back for Iori's sake. They do care for Iori's well being even though they are Orochi assassins, basically they forgave him for his past actions. Iori is such a lucky guy

Broken souls I tell ya. (broken as in without the 1.1 update on the cabinet, Mature is damn broken as hell. haha.)

Actually, they don't care about Iori's sake...but what do I know, right? xD

Ash story is messed up from my point of "feeling". And they showed us a pack of silhouetted wild wolves yet we don't get to fight all of them.

Ending stories are "pfft" from me and why the hell they let a different artist (which I hate so much) did them?

Anyone have Saiki's and Dark Ash movelist??

I'm guessing Dark Ash to be similar to his usual form. But I don't think it has been released since neither of them are playable?

They are playable... (hint: Google bro.. Google.. got ways to enable this two monster of all cheapness.. yup Dark Ash especially.. bombarding me with that ghey black flame non-stop.. ofcoz I can't win.. daa)


I've yet to try Dark Ash... but Saiki's move is pretty unusual. QCF+A/C will execute the dark aura that created the web thingy when hit (as expected of course). QCFx2 + A C execute the whole screen desperation moves. But this one is pretty unusual... QCF + K (strong kick) and the dude jalan in a slow manner just to grab the enemy and hit three times (he really likes to spam this moves as a CPU against us).

Usually this kind of grabbing moves are executed by doing HCB, F + A/B/C/D (like Iori and Elisabeth).

Kinda like Orochi... executing a DM with QCB + P only (if I remember correctly).




It's a shame to see Ash go really. Despite many hating him.. the dude's green flame is one of my favourite... damn I wish they won't do that to Ash.

And until this very moment... I still can't execute any sort of moves with (HCB)x2 input. At all. Really frustrating. It seems the only ways now is to get my self a good stick.

Since I understand what u r saying (its not a road that I want to go anymore dude. ), I don't think the movelist are available yet.

But for Saiki, I only see those 3 moves from him anyways. I don't see anything else. But the grabs are not odd. I remember Iori's grab was QCF+P.

Besides, bosses don't have complex move list, like Zero or Igniz. hehe.

That actually make sense... haha... but seeing how simple the movelist is makes me worried if the boss won't be available as bonus character for PlayStation 3.

I really want to have this for my PlayStation 3... right now playing *** version for the sake of pure training and awesomeness... yeah this game is awesome.



Come to think of it... Saiki never execute any other DM other than that whole screen thingy right? I wonder if anyone playing has been hit with Neomax.. what kind of Neomax does he has? Itching to know...

I don't support this kind of stuff as well... but since it's all the way till October.. gotta have something to practice on as well.. otherwise I'd be owned with super combo from Kyo Kusanagi (from 100% life all the way till 15% only left... damn crazy lerr...)

Tried Dark Ash.. like Kyoyagami said.. all the movelist are the same with two exceptions:

1. No charge 3 seconds then release... instead all moves are that are supposed to be charge are launch immediately with a single stroke of b ~ f ... just like while in the effect of Sans-Cullotes for normal Ash Crimson. A whole lot easier to spam Ventose all along.

2. His Sans-Cullotes has been replaced with a whole screen damaging DM. A,B,C,D executes it.

Not sure about the Neomax as I can't seem to be able to execute HCBx2.. damn hard for my fingers... need to get arcade stick as soon as possible.

I will be trying it out and see

Use Dark Ash super spam for the lulz
