Just bought my B7330 yesterday. I used a Samsung i600 previously, so basically it's the same phone except better specs. In fact, in just one night, I have customized my B7330 to exactly the same feel as my old i600 LOL. I'm writing this on my B7330. Here's my list of Pros & cons I've accumulated so far after a day of use:
Pros:
1) Windows mobile Standard. I just like the seamless integration with Desktop outlook, no touchscreen hassles, longer battery life (probably because no touchscreen), exchange server, internet sharing, softkeys, physical qwerty (what's the deal with all touchscreen nowadays anyway?), many apps (yes iphone has thousands of apps, but too much of something can be bad too; I just need fundamental apps) etc.
2) Bigger RAM. In i600, I can only open 2 or 3 apps (especially if using Opera mobile or tcpmp), but now with bigger RAM, I can open so many apps at the same time
3) Alt+alphabet is shortcut assignment to apps. Love it. Makes it easy to open hard to open apps which reside in folders upon folders like Docs to go or Tasks.
4) video call quality is much better than i600.
5) bigger screen. can see so much more now in one page
6) Garmin. love it
7) louder speaker.
8) better quality camera pictures
9) bigger storage memory
10) Battery lasts so long, even with GPS on. I was on GPS for 4 hours today, & battery still have 4 bars left
11) copy & paste are now integrated in most windows native apps like Contacts, Tasks, Calendar. This was sorely missing in i600, which makes me almost jumped to WM professional, but now with the integration, I don't need to be jealous of the capabillity of my touchscreen copy & paste friends, although, there's still one app which is sorely missing of this: Opera mobile
12) 7.2mbps HSDPA as opposed to i600's 1.1mbps. Definitely makes a lot of difference in terms of surfing speed. Although Malaysia's broadband never exceed 3.6mbps.
13) Most apps I used in i600 (which was 4 OS versions earlier (WM5, WM6, WM6.1, WM6.5)) can still be used in B7330! amazing. Saves me so much time searching for newer apps version
Cons:
1) the symbols above the letters buttons are terribly coloured & thus hard to see at night
2) it's hard to type symbols now compared to i600. With i600, there is a dedicated symbol button, where if u press the symbol button with ur left thumb, u can quickly press required symbols using ur right thumb, but now, the button is gone. Now, to choose symbol, u either hold the required symbols' buttons (which takes longer time) or toggle the Alt button between alphabets, chinese or symbol (even longer)
3) the envelope button opens a 'new message'. wish it maintained i600's which opened the message app. Now, needs a few steps to open message app. I resolve it finally by using Alt+button assignment, but requires both hands to achieve this
4) no flash, so, poor quality pictures at night
5) graphics are no match to new phones (AMOLED, higher resolution, million colours etc). At the shop yesterday, I almost bought samsung wave just because of the screen, but i restrained because of WM simplicity out of the box, & since I had been so invested in WM standard, & i can't stand customizing new phones to the way I like
6) Garmin. I'm not sure whether this is isolated to me only, but it's so hard to get a fix in my car. Probably it's the vkool elite tint's fault, but it dropped satellite signals a lot, & sometimes when it's engaged, it showed me being in indonesia. If anyone also has this problem, & knows how to resolve it, please contact me
7) like i600, it also cannot auto-record phone calls. Wish somebody can develop this app, like the guy who develops ACR for windows mobile professional
Guess that's all for now. Will update if there's anything else

hi uan
Thanks for the welcome
Do you know there's new firmware for B7330? You can find it here (need to register 1st to be able to go the page): http://samsung-firmware.webs.com/WEBPROTEC...sungwmb7330.htm
I haven't upgraded to the new firmware yet, because I'm afraid it will brick my phone. If you dare, you can try it. If you tried it, do inform me the results smile.gif I asked in the forum what the new firmware does, but nobody has replied yet. Maybe the firmware can resolve some of the problems I'm facing.
On Audio Notes, yes it's disappointing that it can't auto call record
On chinese character, thanks for trying, I'm getting a hang of it, so, maybe after a few more weeks of use, I'll get used to it
On Opera Mobile, what version are you using? I'm using 8.65, & there is no feature that if I press center button, I can select and copy the text. At the moment, copy can only be done on links, where you click Menu then copy text or copy link.
On GPS, I saw the XTRA option, but never tried. Will give it a try. I think it's like QuickGPS in HTC phones. On A-GPS, I thought it has it? Isn't that why google maps can locate me even without turning on my GPS?
I have more pro's & cons of the phone after a few more days of use of the phone. I'll post it next

Added on July 21, 2010, 7:51 pmmore pros & cons:
pros:
1. Have LED Indicator: green: wifi, gps, battery full, purple: new email, red: charging, connecting to 3G, blue: bluetooth
2. wifi don't disconnect when screen's off (because there's option to 'don't disconnect wifi when screen's off'). & even when we choose to off wifi when screen's off, when screen's on again, wifi quickly reconnects (which i600 doesn't do)
3. can play youtube directly from opera using arcsoft streaming player
4. when watching using youtube player via wifi, video is clear & don't stutter (in i600, video is clear but stutters)
5. can use keyboard letters to go directly to desired names (in contacts & phone), filenames (in explorer (except s), link (opera), except resco registry & tasks
cons:
1. cannot use tpcmp
2. no scroll wheel
3. 7.2mbps HSDPA speed is not noticeable, max 400kbps only. This is more to Celcom capping policy
4. no back slash symbol. need to use smiley in SMS app. Add~text~emoticon~3rd page,* (\)
5. when searching in sms, button z & b cannot be used, showed square. Also, in general, SMS app is also very slow.
6 Sometimes, setting doesn't respond
7. wifi disconnected in the middle of surfing internet. And the icon completely disappeared. Need to restart the phone to get the wifi icon back. This is one of the biggest bug I am facing at the moment. Hope the new firmware resolve this problem.

Wah so quick. You're so adventurous uan. Hope you'd give more feedback about it before I try it. Are you going to keep the firmware or will you flash back to the old firmware? Some questions:
1) Is it confirmed that the pinyin is gone with this firmware? Will definitely will give it a try if it is. But you're Chinese, aren't you? With the pinyin gone, wouldn't it be hard to write chinese?
2) Does the new font look ok? Any screen capture? I like the current segoe condensed font actually
3) Do you use wifi a lot? Is there a problem of it disapperaring in the middle of surfing with the firmware?
4) Can you try AudioNotes on it to auto-record calls? Does it work?
Thanks for the feedbacks
Regards

Unfortunately uan, B7330 isn't as popular as Nokia E71, so, that's why not a lot of responses to the posts smile.gif
1) You know what I mean wink.gif Anyway, good to know pinyin is really gone. Very good reason to upgrade the firmware now. I'll probably upgrade next week. Got some things to do this week, and need the phone in working order
2) Font looks similar. I don't notice any difference
3) So, the wifi bug is still there sad.gif
4) Disappointing sad.gif

About the findings:
1- Nice
2- Should I be worried Startup folder is empty? What's Mobile Tracker? I didn't know it existed until you brought it up. Is it used to track our phone if it went missing? How do I track it?
3- Good luck with looking for the update log. I've been searching and asking around for weeks but nobody seems to know it huhu.. Seems like Samsung just made the firmware but never bothered to inform what it does

Also, for SMS, when I first had the phone, I found it laggy, but now, it seems ok to me. I don't remember what I did to make it ok. However, if you read the forum in the firmware website, they mentioned the new firmware has the SMS laggy problem again. However, if you read post no 6 in this thread,
http://samsung-firmware.webs.com/apps/foru...e-b7330dxjc2-fw
it mentions about using a different csc file. If you have SMS laggy problem, you might want to give this a try

Hi uan,
Thanks for the update. I still haven't upgraded the firmware yet. Looks like the most functionalities that I want are all there in the new firmware except auto-call recording. Will give it a try soon smile.gif
Just want to ask one thing. What app do you use to show the digital clock at the top-bar? Thank you

Hi uan,
Are you still on the new firmware? Am finally thinking of upgrading it next week. From your feedbacks, everything looks good except the lack of mobile tracker. Should I be worried this is not present? I lost my phone once & having mobile tracker might be helpful
Thanks!

Yes, I love this phone too. The battery life, as is with all Samsung Windows smartphones (non touch-screen), is amazing (I had i600 before which battery life is amazing too, & that only had 1000mAh, while B7330 has 1500mAh). I upgraded the firmware recently & it made B7330 even better, because my complaint before this was that the alt button toggles between alphabet, symbols/numbers & pinyin (chinese characters), which I don't use. With the new firmware, the pinyin toggle is gone, & so, now it's easier to type because just alphabet & symbols/numbers are available now (note: you'll lose Mobile tracker function with the upgrade though, which I don't use anyway, because it's not everyday you lose your phone tongue.gif). I also like the shortcut 'Alt + letters on keyboard'. Makes it easier to open any app from the home screen. And also, main reason I still stick to Windows Mobile Standard (Smartphone) OS rather than move to Windows Mobile Professional or Android etc is the shortcut in the softkey menus, where you can quickly jump to the menu options by typing the number of the associated menus.
About browser, at the moment, I'm still using Opera Mobile 8.65. Is Opera Mobile 10 really that good? Maybe will give it a try later. Infact I'm writing this reply on my B7330 using Opera Mobile 8.65.
My only gripe still is the message button. With i600, I was so used to it opening the message app, so that I can quickly flip through emails & sms, but now, had to long-press before can open it. Short press creates New Message instead. Wish B7330 has an active developer/hacker group (which it doesn't) which can fix issues like this.
I wonder if anyone has bought the new Samsung Omnia Pro 5. It's basically B7330, but with the audio port changed to standard 3.5mm plug instead of microusb, which I wished B7330 has. But actually, other than that, Omnia Pro 5 is a downgrade with smaller screen, lower resolution camera & lower HSDPA max speed.
So, I think overall, after almost a year, I'm pleased with B7330, & hoped that Windows will continue making Windows Mobile Standard phone rather than focusing on the new Windows Phone 7 only (no true multi-task, copy & paste & microsd slot!)

B7330 does have onenotemobile at Start>Application>Office Mobile. However, onenotemobile doesn't sync to Outlook on PC & it also doesn't have Copy & Paste.

Since B7330 is WM6.5, it does have Copy & Paste but only with its native apps like Calendar, Contacts, Email and Tasks (press Menu> Copy/Paste & you can select using shift button + left/right nav pad). Earlier version, like B7320 is WM6.1 & doesn't have Copy & Paste. Some 3rd party apps also have Copy & Paste like Opera Mobile 10 (free) & Documentstogo (paid). For me, to resolve problem with taking quick notes, I use either Task or Wordtogo. For Task, you can write notes at the 'Notes' field, which you need to scroll all the way down to reach. To reach these apps quick, I use the Alt+keypad shortcut which can be customized at Start>Settings>Alt key settings. I assigned Alt+T for Tasks & Alt+W for Wordtogo. I can then Copy & Paste quickly to my email, browser etc

What external charger are you talking about? Wall-plug? Weren't you provided with one when you bought it? Anyway, you can just buy any microusb wall-plug charger at Low Yat or any phone shop

Just received my b7330 yesterday. Bought it when my i780 sink in recent flood sad.gif

So far experience is good. Multitasking and speed is also acceptable, can open 5 applications without noticeable lagging on the device.

Being a previous wm professional user, xda zinc, htc touch 3g and i780, my only quirk is I can't copy and paste between application. I copy paste a lot from several application, i.e notes, onenotes to my email when replying emails. Also can't find notes application, although there is a voice note which I don't use.

Is there a workaround for this, or do I have to live without the ability to copy paste between applications?

I have an external charger with my previous i780, is there any similar charger for b7330? Tried searching the web, but can't find any.

Also another feature that the wm standard email application didn't have is the ability to insert quick text in your email. Really useful feature. Wonder why microsoft crippled the wm standard email application when handphone that are using are them meant to be a use as a messaging set.

There's 'My Text' in email. Isn't this the same as Quick text? You can also edit it
