Mostly they will pay for all your Uni fees and give you adequate amount of money to spend buying books and cover your living cost depending in which country you go to if overseas.I see my friend Bank Negara scholar doing CAL in Taylor's got a lot of money compared to JPA and MARA scholars XD

I'm not sure what your asking but just apply for it ^^ As long as you fill in the form properly and meet the minimum requirements they will call you to sit for their test.Their main criteria for selecting is how well you perform in their Test that applicants that meet the criteria have to take. After taking the the top scorers will be called for an interview and if you can perform really well, will be among the lucky few who got chosen out of the hundreds that sit the test and the few amount of people who actually got called for an interview.

Actually, the term Ivy League is very misleading. If you do care to check, it is actually a closed sports meet where all those top US universities who are also very picky and choosy in admissions and have limited number of places for each intake, are actually participating and competing within their own circle. Just to group them together because they happen to be top universities, they are conveniently called the Ivy League but by no means are they all in the Top 10 of the world.

So the question is, by what terms do you or JPA define "Ivy League"? From what I read in this forum, "Ivy League" universities somehow happen to extend to some UK universities as well. If that is the case, do they also include some top Canadian or other European and Asian universities for that matter? For them to limit the already misleading "Ivy League universities" status to only some select universities for the sake of convenience and public ignorance is very unfair for others.

Just my two cents. biggrin.gif
*
Yeah but the unis in the Ivy League is quite well ranked. That's why I said "Ivy League Level University". It can also cover the top unis like in QS world rankings in the US which are not Ivy League or Universities like Oxford and Cambridge in the UK and also Unis like ANU,Melbourne Uni and University of Sydney in Aussie.

Would you mind to elaborate the process to apply for this scholarship?
*
hum I don't quite know much about it.The only thing I heard about it was that you needed a full offer from the University then contact JPA about it together with the full offer.

any Canadian unis included by chance? Queen's U?
*
hum I'm not sure since this scholarship is not really announced and might change.Got to ask JPA.

I am a SPM candidate this year(2010). May i know how to obtain local colleges scholarships by using the actual SPM result(annouced on March 2011)?  Any colleges in KL or Selangor will do.

I do not know much about this stuff. I just want to know when is the time to register or apply for the scholarship. Is it as simple as enter a webpage and just fill in your information or do I have to download a form or whatsoever? Or maybe I have missed the chance?

Your help is appreciate smile.gif
*
Don't worry so much if you just want local college scholarships.Just look in most newspapers from around the time your SPM results are released. There will be tons of advertisements and open days and scholarships advertised during that time to attract SPM leavers then.

Some University/Colleges have scholarships that open with trial results some wait for actual results. Some would allow you to do so online while some would require you to fill in some forms. Anyway don't worry about that for now, trust me come around the time SPM results are released or even during this December when College January intakes are nearing advertisements will be everywhere in the papers.

ok thanks smile.gif

if they advertises in newspaper do they give you a website and want you to fill in the info?
*
Well it depends on which University/College.Some would tell you to go fill in some online forms at some website, some will tell you to download their forms and send it by mail or hand while some might ask you to come to their College/University to take and fill in the forms among other thing.

Why is that so? Sorry if it's a silly question, but please enlighten me. Are all scholarships like that?  sad.gif
*
To be fair to others and to stop people to receive more than one scholarship/financial aid etc. as holding more than one could really complicate things.
Most scholarships are like that. I haven't seen one yet that doesn't have a clause stopping you from taking another scholarship without terminating the one you are currently holding.
