Interested in studying in the US? US study is becoming increasingly popular amongst Malaysian students. More than 5,000 Malaysian students chose the US for undergraduate, postgraduate and short-term university study.

As you know, the United States is very generous with financial aid to international students for education. It's important to remember that studying in the USA is a real privilege. Consider it an investment in your future.

hei...is anybody applying for the star education fund 2010? There are some scholarships to universities like Uni of Nottingham that states "Foundation leading to... (a list of bachelors degree)". Does that mean the scholarship covers the full duration of studies from foundation level to degree or is it only for the foundation level? Thx ya... biggrin.gif

Here's a scholarship covering many construction fields including architecture studies in local universities only - something worth noting even if you're aiming for overseas.
It's offered by construction firm Titijaya Group.

Besides architecture, the scholarship covers many other construction-related areas such as C. Engineering, Surveying, Business/marketing, property, etc.

Check out the scholarship details here.

Depends on where you want to study though. There's one currently for liberal art studies at Lingnan University Hong Kong.

For more locally-provided scholarships, the floodgates will be opened after the release of SPM results. That's just a couple more weeks away, so stay tuned to more scholarships then.

Usually scholarships provided by learning institutions for studies in their own programmes are the ones covering only tuition fees - a marketing strategy to let tell the world that they are providing scholarships yet reducing costs by still charging invisible administrative/resource fees. These are usually less competitive because you are only competing against students applying to the same school.

The 'true' waivers you referred to are more commonly found in scholarships given by external/private sources such as charitable and philanthropy foundations. Ocassionaly, there are also multinational corporations using bonded scholarships as a means to secure the best brains in the market. The funding usually go all out to cover travelling costs, all learning expenses, books purchasing, and/or living expenses. These are usually highly competitive and calls for true merit since only the cream will be selected regardless of which institution applied.

Some similar scholarships which are open at the moment:

Cambridge Tun Suffian Scholarships (Law)
Panasonic Scholarships (Science/technology courses)
MEASAT Scholarships (Aerospace)
Fujitsu Scholarships
Intel Scholarships

Some of them are postgraduate-only, please take note.

Thanks.

I just get my STPM few days ago and my cgpa was only 3.25 with 1A and 3B,it is possible to get any scholarship if I wanna study in private universities since the chance for me to getting in accounting degree in local universities is quite low or even impossible.

3.25 is not too bad, if you're looking at accounting courses. Admission should not be a problem, but if you're looking at full scholarships, it may be slightly more difficult to find one.

Have you considered KTAR/UTAR for accounting? From a costing point of view, as they offer a solid course for the buck as opposed to other private U such sa Sunway or Monash.

That is the matter,3.25 is enough to get in accounting course but hardly to get full scholarship.

Actually,UTAR/KTAR should be okay for me,if only in term in financial issue, but the degree they offer did not recognized by most of the accounting committee.I am looking for university like MMU(recognized by MIA) or Monash(which you can pursue to CPA later on) but the tuition fee for these college is high.

I would suggest looking into the university's own scholarships first (Monash scholarship or Sunway scholarship). If you do not qualify, the only other way is to go for loans.

On another note, those who are interested to study and Taiwan can now apply one of these 3 scholarships provided by the Taiwan government:
Taiwan Scholarship Program
TaiwanICDF Scholarships
Mandarin Enrichment Program (for those who want to learn/improve mandarin)

As far as I know, PTPTN charges 1% for their loans. I'm not sure if it's the lowest, but worth a shot since PTPTN coversw most IPTA and IPTS courses.

What are your results? The One cademy does not provide any internal scholarships, so you will have to look at external sources.
