Does anyone know if there's any financial aid or non-academic scholarships for students going to vocational college/school? I have a friend whose 17-year-old son is going this year, but the family is in dire need of financial aid.. and I don't think PTPTN gives loans to vocational college students.

You may look for fully sponsored Vocational Training Programmes.
1) German Dual Vocational Training (GDVT) for Logistics Management/Industrial Management/Mechatronics Engineering
Website: https://www.facebook.com/germandvt/
2) Mazda Apprenticeship Program in Automotive (There is similar programme as well for BMW and Mercedes Benz, but need you to find it out)
http://www.biasiswakini.com/2017/03/mazda-...ogram-2017.html

I only know about this two major fields, not sure about other fields

Hope this helps!

I'm planning in taking mechatronic engineering master 2nd half this year. So far I already registered with UM. Currently, I'm working as engineer in PJ. The fee is around RM22k.

I checked on mybrain15 and they are able to provide up to RM10k. Just want to know if there is any scholarship or education loan that fit my needs. Thanks

Every scholarship has its own criteria. Best to look them up individually through the links/websites provided on this thread. You might be eligible for partial or full scholarships depending on which scholarship you apply to. Doing your own research is an important step in securing a scholarship.

Context is important since we have no idea if you are looking to study engineering, economics, health sciences, etc..

Sorry I can't answer your question with regards to PTPTN as I am not familiar with it sad.gif

Please provide us with specifics with regards to your grades/performance/co-curricular activities that may contribute towards your securing a scholarship. You need to be eligible for one before you can submit your application anyway. Does UM provide financial assistance to students like you? In-house scholarships are often attractive due to the lack of bond conditions.

Alternatively, check out this website. They provide one free consultation for students like you to answer your questions with regards to scholarships and/or loans.

I got a second upper during my degree. Not much in term of co-curricular but I did join/organize a few events since I need fulfill some "points" for my scholarship during bachelor time. Might need to reconfirm with UM staff on the in-house scholarship, they recommended me to get myMaster or PTPTN for the fee last time we dicussed. Anyway thanks for the unienrol recommendation, I will take a look into it. notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

Most common sports scholarships are 50% for State sportsmen and 100% for National sportsmen

I'm from diploma too. Most scholarships for undergrad studies allows diploma results as it is also considered a Pre-U sort of segment. Unless they've specifically stated only SPM/STPM/Foundation/A-levels. You can try them anyway.

For waiver in PTPTN, you have to at least get CGPA 3.70 and above to get a waiver. Or anything that is classified as First Class Honours.

If i apply for the JPA Scholarship, do i have to pay back for the JPA Scholarship if i graduate with first class result in degree but didn't work in the public sector after graduation bcoz they did not offer a job within a period of time? Is there any loan repayment exemption like first class degree result for PTPTN for JPA loan?
