oh my god.the 2000 word essay is the one they ask to write on why do you deserve this scholarship and so on part?
they didn't state must write 2000 word, just cap the maximum word is 2000,so i just wrote about 500 words.>><<
*
Yeah, maximum of 2000 words. However, as a general guideline I do suggest people not to go below half of the maximum length (eg. no less than 1000)
75% of the max allowable length eg. 1500 would be a safe spot.

I have no idea about how the folks filter and screen the applications, so my "rule of thumb" may be wrong tongue.gif

Those scholarships offered like thestar, there's a listing of participating colleges, what's it for??

Meaning, thestar only give out scholarships under those listings of colleges and scholarships?

It means that the funding institution is separate from the learning institutions. For example in your case, The Star is the funding institution (providing the money) while the listed colleges/unis are the associated learning institution where Star Education Fund scholars will be able to pursue their studies at.

Generally, yes they only allow studies at the listed institutions so as to have more control over the quality of graduates later on (as opposed to sending scholars to any unverified institutions)

By "SPM to tertiary" I really do assume that you are talking about some form of foundation or diploma studies?

Well if you happen enough to be a bumiputera, here's one for you (although they still require you to go thru A-levels)
Permodal Nasional Berhad Scholarships

Others SPM-direct-to-diploma/foundation scholarships:
Petronas Scholarships
Yayasan TM Scholarships
Hong Leong Scholarships

..and much more. I believe that you will uncover more scholarships if you do some more Passionate searching.

And for the latest roster of scholarships to hit us:

Securities Commission Scholarship
Lion-Parkson Foundation Scholarships
Permodal Nasional Berhad Scholarships
BCA Scholarships for Built Environment Studies at Singapore

Do search and get more scholarships while you're at Questle.com.

Cheers

Hey guys, just wanna enquire, i got straight As for my spm, but its 1A+, 4As, and 5A- which isn't really outstanding at all. Are the chances of getting scholarships good? My co- curricullum is good...

And sadly, A- is not counted as part of the required As. >< Tried applying for khazanah global scholarship and minimum needed 8As, but my A-s didn't count as an A when i was applying online.. sad.gif Haihhh..

I'm not sure what your asking but just apply for it ^^ As long as you fill in the form properly and meet the minimum requirements they will call you to sit for their test.Their main criteria for selecting is how well you perform in their Test that applicants that meet the criteria have to take. After taking the the top scorers will be called for an interview and if you can perform really well, will be among the lucky few who got chosen out of the hundreds that sit the test and the few amount of people who actually got called for an interview.
