why suddenly today i got copy protection failed on my hd channels....

Anyone tried using Samsung TV remote to control Astro Beyond receiver? Been trying most of codes, but still couldn't find the right one (!) Help !

Most probably will be .mpg, .mpeg .ts .tp and all sorts.

@18mbps bitrate.

From my korean sources, it's prolly the same just that their codec are less process hogger unlike Astro which I'm not mistaken is using H264 instead of MPEG2.

Quite low to be honest.
In Hongkong their bitrate still over 15mbps even in H264.

Lol... you can't compare that way. Hongkong is using terrestrial broadcasting, unlike astro using satellite. Hence the bandwidth issue is even tighter for satellite broadcasters. If you want to compare with terrestrial broadcasting in malaysia, rtm did quite a good job too, around 14Mbps in h264 for olympics beijing 2008... just that the audio was the sucky mpeg layer 2 audio lol not dd.

wow mind sharing us how did you record that stream? ... hrm so hbo is only 1280x720p ? :/ thought it was 1920x1080i

hrm, he should try recording 1080i lol.... since hd-pvr supports up to 1080i... would like to see how good will it be =D

its an expensive combination, 199 for hdfury2, 200++ for hd-pvr.... around 400++ (usd) for all....
can't afford it =/ ... will be patiently waiting for astro's recording firmware update ...

no.. u dont need to, astro's quality is not worth resampling again (for sd channels....)

i used to record from them, but i've stopped...ever since their quality has decreased tremendously (even audio streams they dont spare lol)

lol.. wait lor... and if u cant wait, then wait patiently lor =p ... im still good because there is no mtv hd channel yet.... and hbo is censored as they like lol

any news on additional HD channel?

some software like xbmc can force display refresh rate to match video, every time I start to play movie using my laptop, my tv will go blank for 2-3s. Some people might feel it annoying, but I find it is useful.
It will be good if Astro can do 1080p24 for some program like DIRECTV does. It actually uses almost same bandwith like 1080i50 that Astro currently using.

i mean other channel such as AXN? MTV? DIscovery ?

12 World Cup Channels on ASTRO

12 dedicated channels available both in HD and SD..
So this confirms what I have been saying all along..

World Cup channels is NOT PART of the 10 HD channels promised by astro..

So astro still owes us another 5HD channels

did anyone realize that the hbo hd channel logo suddenly appeared much bigger? ... it really annoyed the hell out of me....so disturbing to have such big logo when watching a movie =___=

har?? I only watched few days ago and it was much smaller =___=
