Most probably will be .mpg, .mpeg .ts .tp and all sorts.

@18mbps bitrate.

From my korean sources, it's prolly the same just that their codec are less process hogger unlike Astro which I'm not mistaken is using H264 instead of MPEG2.
*
Astro use H264 at bitrate only 8-9mbps. That's half than MPEG2. smile.gif

Is it?
Quite low to be honest.
In Hongkong their bitrate still over 15mbps even in H264.

I wonder the quality.

DO you have Astro streamed video files? tongue.gif

QUOTE(kaspersky-fan @ May 9 2010, 02:24 PM)
Lol... you can't compare that way. Hongkong is using terrestrial broadcasting, unlike astro using satellite. Hence the bandwidth issue is even tighter for satellite broadcasters. If you want to compare with terrestrial broadcasting in malaysia, rtm did quite a good job too, around 14Mbps in h264 for olympics beijing 2008... just that the audio was the sucky mpeg layer 2 audio lol not dd.

Testing HD capture from Astro B.yond.

Testing video capture from the B.yond decoder HDMI output.

The setup goes from Astro Byond (HDMI)-> HDFury2 (Component + Optical out) -> HD-PVR -> Media Center

The LCD TV gets it's feed via HD-PVR component pass through.

The video capture details. Input source is 1280x720.

Click on the pics for larger pictar.

Things left to do:
1. Get DVBLink to work.
2. Get IR Blaster to work.
3. Setup EPG.

some software like xbmc can force display refresh rate to match video, every time I start to play movie using my laptop, my tv will go blank for 2-3s. Some people might feel it annoying, but I find it is useful.
It will be good if Astro can do 1080p24 for some program like DIRECTV does. It actually uses almost same bandwith like 1080i50 that Astro currently using.
*
1080p24? That's going to take time... hmm.gif

ok guys..take a look on astro's FB..or look at the link below..

12 World Cup Channels on ASTRO

12 dedicated channels available both in HD and SD..
So this confirms what I have been saying all along..

World Cup channels is NOT PART of the 10 HD channels promised by astro..

So astro still owes us another 5HD channels
*
10 additional HD channel? shakehead.gif
