It's ridiculously hot. It's been on standby for half a day yet it's like burning hot. Just imagine how many watts electricity it's burning even in standby to produce that kinda heat. 

True bro..i also hate the heat on the new decoder..old one if u put on standby wont be this hot..at nite i switch main power off..want to save electric and also dont want it damaged

SIBU: About 200,000 people residing in remote areas of Sarawak and Sabah will be able to enjoy free-to-air television programmes with the launch of satellite transmission through RTM by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak here.

In Sarawak, some 40,000 people from 124 longhouses in the remote areas, like in Belaga, Kapit and Marudi, would be receiving the transmission through the satellite.

They form 12 per cent of Sarawak population who are unable to receive programmes from free-to-air television stations.

In Sabah, the remote areas are in Sandakan, Kota Marudu, Keningau, Kota Belud,Nabawan, Tenom and Semporna.

For now, the satellite transmission is on a trial run basis.

Najib said the full transmission would begin in August this year.

“With the transmission through MEASAT satellite, those isolated areas will be able the programmes from RTM, TV3 and Astro television stations,” Najib said.

He said these areas had not been able to enjoy the programmes as it was not economically practical to set up communication infrastructures.

“The transmission through satellite is more practical when compared to telecommunication stations,” he added.

RTM, in collaboration with Astro and Malaysian Multimedia Commission, would supply set-up boxes to the isolated areas to enable them to receive the satellite transmission.

Hehe, I didnt mean kacau us in terms of discomfort. I meant kacau coz now hafta switch it off completely at night. The amount of heat it produces even in standby mode shows that it's chewing up a whole lot of electricity while doing nothing. I'm the kinda person who believes in saving electricity 1. Dont like to waste.

Thomas/Uber Cup in HD? or upscale HD like in F1....doubt it coz i dun think all the matches will recorded using HD camera. if really recorded IN HD, why not from the first day or yesterday match again Denmark telecast in HD format...if yesterday malaysia lost to denmark, do u think we can see our hero/zero in HD or upscale HD. another astro strategy to blindfold us. Dun u all think we being cheated if that so-call HD channel only display upscale HD.

I think it was recorded in HD, they just don't broadcast it in HD yet. Maybe they do some trial in HD since day 1 because this is the 1st time they will do live telecast in HD. I bet it will be HD, not upscaled. 
Btw i like upscaled, it's way better than SD. Astro just need to be honest when they actually upscaled it.

yeap i think astro shd be honest in promoting their programme. i think all the demand subscriber are here to watch really HD programme, not upscale. at least we think our RM20 well spent every month. F1 upscale, HBO movie upscale etc...5 channel only since Dec/Jan...already 4 month without any new HD channel. promise us 10 channel until end of this year but since Apr we already start paying RM20 and astro still limbo us with guessing when new channel will be started. halo astro, pls let us know when new channel will be uplah...everytime last minute announcement (like ESPN HD). dun tell me 31 Dec 2010 then new channel up...
