The shitty thing is, the girl checked her computer n she says the system did log my request for Byond 2 weeks ago. Yet she still ask me to wait another 10 workng days. 1 of the biggest companies in Msia n this is how they do biz. If it was a free market, they will bankrap overnight.

i applied when 1st week they launch.. oni yesterday they come to install..

if you're thinking of going, please go - we need more people to support sports in the venue and less in armchair. otherwise these sporting events will not find their way here any more...

Everypne who has called Astro to subscribe for Byond will actually get the standard response of 10 days to install..
No matter u subscribe online or through the phone
No matter if u have subscribed online for 2 weeks or 2 hours..
No matter if u live next to Astro in Bukit Jalil or in Perlis..
They say 10 days..
But as many have found out sometimes they can install in 3 working days
Or in my case more than 2 weeks
For those who want to subscribe for Byond, it is more advisable to call and apply
Speak to their CS would help u know more than applying online and wait forever
Sometimes ur online application never get to them or its delayed by astro themselves

we need more people filling up stadiums in international events
last month I saw a Malaysian Premier League match on Arena Live from Melaka Hang Tuah Stadium
The stadium was sooooooooooo full.......of empty chairs..
There were only 4 spectators watching in the stand facing the camera..2 Rela guards and 2 ballboys..!!! doh.gif

Now, you have "experienced" it and see the cockroaches skin and their hairy legs very very clearly until you cannot eat and always think about that....  That's the miracle of High Definition... and I'm still waiting for local channels to air in HD... really wanna see how our actor and actress face in HD... especially the "kertu" (old) one.. hahaha....

[SIZE=7]Astro exploring more targeted advertising using set-top box data

Written by Kathleen Tan
Thursday, 06 May 2010 00:00

ASTRO is exploring the possibility of providing more targeted advertising solutions for its clients based on audience and measurement data from its set-top boxes.

Speaking at Astro’s Future of Advertising industry event on April 30, Henry Tan, Astro chief operating officer of strategy, content and marketing, said that the current audience measurement system did not accurately reflect and measure the performance of multi-channel providers such as Astro, as it was “designed in an era of free-to-air (FTA) television and favours FTA TV stations”.

“We are prepared to invest but we need a fairer system to accurately measure TV viewership in a multi-channel environment — a measurement tool that is robust and ready for how TV viewing has changed in Malaysia. Without numbers, the media plan can’t win the battle of scrutiny,” he said.

Asked if Astro would charge for the audience measurement data, Tan said Astro had no immediate plans or details on the implementation of the technology or the terms of usage for the audience measurement data.

He added that Astro was currently focusing on its soon-to-be launched personal video recorder and video-on-demand services.
Tan said Astro would be launching its personal video recorder or digital video recorder (DVR) services this month, followed by video-on-demand services later on. It launched Astro B.yond high-definition (HD) services in December last year.

He said Astro had the ability to fuse all data sources into data insights — “who is watching what, when, at which address and what their shopping habits are”.

However, media agencies, while welcoming Astro’s new initiative, expressed concern that the audience measurement data services would be offered at a premium.

“While the initiative is a positive one for the ad industry, media agencies’ profit margins are currently under pressure, hence the concerns of additional overhead costs in obtaining new audience measurement data,” said Vizeum Malaysia CEO Andy Miller in a phone interview yesterday.

Audience measurement data? I wonder how do they do this. As they have mentioned before that they decoders are only capable of one way traffic only, they do not transmit back.
