SHAFTSBURY Square is fast becoming the favoured location for dining in Cyberjaya.

Located in Persiaran Multimedia in Cyber 6, the development boasts a selection of food and beverage outlets to cater to the community.

Cafes, bakeries, restaurants and fast food outlets add to the variety of food choices available in the cybercity.

Topping the list is Volcano Shabu Shabu, a steamboat restaurant that prides itself on the fresh ingredients and homemade meat balls.

Its adviser Andy Kuan said the restaurant provided individual pots for each customer, so that every one could enjoy shabu shabu with his preferred soup base and ingredients.

Volcano Shabu Shabu offers tom yam soup, chicken soup, porridge, pumpkin porridge and mala (spicy and numbing) soup to go with the individual set, set for two, or set for three.

The pots are cooked over induction cookers.

While thin meat slices are included in the sets, customers can always opt for additional ingredients, such as the homemade meat balls, Angry Bird fish cakes, vegetarian lamb, fish cakes, seafood taufoo, squid, prawns and fish fillet.

Sauces and condiments are the staple of a steamboat meal.

At Volcano Shabu Shabu, customers can make their own dips by mixing the ingredients available on a counter.

Aside from Thai sweet chilli sauce, hoisin sauce, garlic oil, chopped peanut, corriander and spring onion, Volcano Shabu Shabu director Lee Tse Chuan said the restaurant also served a special lava sauce.

“It is made of sweet sauce, vinegar, chilli and garlic,” he revealed.

Kuan added that the restaurant sourced its ingredients from halal certified suppliers, and was in the process of obtaining the halal certificate.

For pastries, head over to Petite Patisserie that serves mousse cakes imported from Singapore.

“The cakes are frozen using a snap freeze technology. When we defrost the cakes here, they are as good as freshly made,” owner Karen Ooi said.

The bakery also sells decorative items for customers to decorate their own cakes.

The hype surrounding Taiwanese bubble tea is still very much alive, judging by the queue at ComeBuy at Shaftsbury Square.

Outlet owner Diong Hoe Ling said their beverages, including bubble tea, fruit juices, smoothies, chocolate and coffee, are freshly made to order.

Other F&B outlets at Shaftsbury are Tappers Cafe (local and western delights), Alef Maju Restaurant (“mamak” food), O’ Briens (deli dishes and snacks with gourmet coffee), Ko Hyang (Korean cuisine), Acacia Tree Koffie (local favourites such as ayam masak merah and ikan bakar), Anggerik Kuring (traditional Sundanese and Bandung food), Chups (local and western delicacies) and Kiraku Japanese Restaurant.

Popular establishments, such as Kenny Rogers Roasters, Starbucks, Subway and Chatime, can also be found at Shaftsbury Square.

Hafidz Hashim, managing director of Cyberview Sdn Bhd, which is the landowner and cybercity manager of Cyberajaya, said, “Cyberjaya is now a vibrant cybercity with a thriving population that has attracted many developers.

“There is a phenomenal progress in commercial and residential development, and we are proud to see Shaftsbury Square further spurs the growth of this premier ICT hub,” he said.

Other shops and services available include HSBC Amanah, Affin Bank, Guardian pharmacy, convenience store, spa, stationery shop and Mail Boxes Etc a mail service company. Shaftsbury Square is developed by Shaftsbury Capital Sdn Bhd, which is wholly owned by Ikhasas Sdn Bhd.
