I think Aspire's tutorial on front page is missing some package requirements for beginners, not really foolproof for beginners. So far, I'm testing 750mhz using the simplest method suggested by Titan http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p=597569&postcount=1259Just make sure you have installed the updated kernel in extras-testing repository, version 2.6.28-maemo19 and above, and also make sure you have installed the rootsh package, then follow Titan's commands. The above is just a temporary testing, which will be reset back to 600mhz following any phone calls or phone reboot, but its good for testing. With 750mhz, I can only sense an oh-so-tiny speed improvement.

I'm not sure bout those who go the firmware route, but on my phone with the kernel updates, I can select up to 1.15ghz.
Tested 950mhz, stable so far.

If only they can have in-built auto startup apply, then nobody will need to be doing the flashing mode to OC.

QUOTE(zeli @ Apr 18 2010, 03:18 PM) Sourceso unless you flashed with an overclocked kernel in the first place only the normal frequencies can be selected. Not really. If you updated the mini kernel update, eg Kernel 2.6.28-maemo20 like I did (no flashing required), I'm getting option to OC up to 1.15ghz. Only bad thing, is you have to reapply the OC evertime u restart the phone, which is safer anyway.

Yeah, i feel the "Oh the N900 is superior in almost every way compared to iPhone" is just too obvious in this thread, even though I'm pro N900.
